What is a "powder rock"? I found one as a kid and never seen one again. Is there a scientific name for it? I couldn’t find anything on Google.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)

  20. Jeffrey Auman on November 15, 2022 at 12:13 pm

I liked seeing your excitement over the outhouse. I agree, you must dig that cesspit, if you have the permission to do so. It’s not that people would deliberately throw items into them. They have rubbish tips for that. It’s what people accidentally lose down those holes in the outhouse. Coins and personal items and the DID NOT go down there to recover them (for good reason).

You need to learn how to do all of that yourself. Cut them yourself, finish the lip, and make more profit. What you do is awesome and rare. I want to buy one of your glasses.

  26. Matt S on November 15, 2022 at 12:22 pm

Where can someone find the drinking glasses these bottles are turned into?

I’ve got a spot on the east coast with equal to or better then stuff I see you pulling out.
A particular forest area…. With streams… was a large house from a few hundred years ago.
Appears as if of the other side of forest they used it as a trash dump over a hundred years ago…
Unlimited medicine bottles of ever kind. Most I found as a kid had damage and I always threw them back…
Some other interesting silver relics found in the streams as well….
The house and forest has a crazy history according to the stories I heard…. Always was talk about a hidden tunnel in the forest.
I found an air vent to it covered by a granite stone…. Right in the area the house was. I would be willing to share the location since it’s unlikely I’ll be going their anytime soon. Tons of antique designed plates broken…. lol
I will tell you it’s in NJ

  45. capinkyky on November 15, 2022 at 12:34 pm

honestly, man. I’d charge more. You clearly put a lot of labor and time into this and you deserve to reap some rewards!

  46. Tim Carmo on November 15, 2022 at 12:39 pm

Everyone’s always more concerned about kids when it comes to littered broken glass.
Imagine being a wild animal, going to cross a stream, and out of nowhere you have broken glass imbedded in your paws. That’s much more likely to happen in the middle of nowhere than a child stepping on it, yet I’ve never heard anyone make that point.

  47. Z Ack on November 15, 2022 at 12:39 pm

I dont understand why somebody would send the bottles out and not do it yourself.. seems like you would want to do all that.. itd be like finding a nice chunk of some tiger wood then sending it off to somebody to whittle something out of it then sending it back to ya.. the other half of the fun in finding trash and turning it into treasure is the part where you make it treasure and get the satisfaction of putting in the hands on time making it.. with bottles you can get an old hairdryer and take the heating wire element out of it and cut a piece about a foot long, wrap it around the bottle where you want it cut and hook the wire to a car battery for about 5-10 seconds then unhook the wire and immediately dunk it into some cool water and the thing will pop right off on its own.. then just take some 300 grit wet sand paper , tape off the inside and outside right below the rim and polish the edge moving up to 2000 grit paper or which evet grit matches the bottles wear… done deal.. or you could slowly heat up the bottles a little at a time so not to stress them and once you get em past 450 then take a cutting torch and with the bottle upside down cut it snd hear polish it once yoi melt off what you want and done deal.. while its hot you could even stick a handle on em with a little flux and a piece of glass..

I was born in 1948 at home in Esom Hill Georgia just across the line from Piedmont Alabama. We used an "outhouse" until I married and left home in 1966 My parents had an inside bathroom put in in 1967.. My dad would laugh every time he told the story of the Revenuer come snooping around his house asking what was the trail going into the woods behind the house was used for ,dad chuckled and told them ,"the outhouse." But being government men looking for steels didn’t believe him saying ,"people didn’t use them at that day and age,"anymore . After repeating over and over where his steel was hidden and did the trail lead to it ,dad just said you don’t believe me go look for yourselves. Needless to say there were two very red faced government men came walking back down that trail saying, "Thank you Mr. Love," and straight to their car they went.
