Not just gold but silver, platinum and lots of other metals and valuable products ground up by glaciers, eroded by rain etc. One of my favorite experiences was mining the beaches of Nome for several years.

Here’s the punchline most missed: You would need to filter 2 billion litres of seawater to extract $1 worth of gold. So the headline is misleading. We’re not going to get gold from the oceans or from outer space, people. We’ll have to do it the old fashioned way, which is why gold is so valuable. Although silver at $23 is probably even a better value. Every solar panel uses about $15 worth of silver. But solar panels is only 10% of silver demand. 8% of demand already is for vehicles, and should increase as the switchover accelerates.
