Friends, the hole must be covered with thick iron bars so that it does not fall victim to humans or animals.

Did you get the opportunity to go back to this site and metal detect?
    What are the purple flowers?
Are tailing stacks with quarts a indication of possibilities for gold? I ask because I have seen a few tailing rows with quarts sharps in my hiking and wondered why they were doing that pile? I didn’t know that they were tailings until watching your videos. Now if I could remember exactly where those places are, it’s been a few years, but they are now on public lands.
Also, when you stepped over the fencing, thought that is risky… thank goodness there was a person to get help! That area seemed very unstable!

Ask Aquachigger to come along on your next adventure to this place, Nate. He’d loved to jump down into one of these pits and just start digging! If there are tunnels or caves, he’d find them. He may even bring his scuba gear and go down into that watery grave! 😱 You know he’s a little reckless. I feel for his wife, Lindsay. 😉 I enjoyed this quest with you and your friend! 😊

If the mine was claimed and registered, there are records of what and how much was produced.

Skunks also love to eat Yellow Jackets, and I was amazed at the size of rocks a skunk will move to enjoy the meal! I actually thought it was being done by a bear until I saw him or her in action!
