Awww … big miss on Soul Chicken! Went there at noon today … nobody was in line – red flag! Ordered what you ordered and ate at one of the two little tables on the side after waiting 15 minutes for the order to be ready. The sweet & spicy boneless chicken came lukewarm and the honey wings was just warm. All the seasoning was in the fried batter and sauce, the chicken meat was very bland and not juicy. The fried seaweed rolls had a strong black pepper taste. Regardless, keep up the good eats … love y’all and da Von, too ❤️

I’ve been hearing rumors that Meg’s is closing its doors for good. Any truth to that?
It’s funny to me that you guys say “Drive Ins” to what I know as DINER, for me Drive In is an open air cinema (huge parking like area and at the front there is a huge screen where movies are projected on, they give you radio station so you can here the sound of the movie in your car sound system) the Drive In also has a commissary area and restrooms. Just wanted to share that with you guys 😊. Thank you for taking is along on your “foodie rounds” 😊

Love when Yvonne joins Felix and Amanda for food reviews. The three of you are a good combination.
Steamed fish is easy to make! I make the ginger and onion steamed fish or the black bean steam fish. We don’t have opakapaka which is great for steaming but our California calico bass or kelp bass is outstanding. You guys should try making it at home! Whole fish or filllets give different dining experiences. The only down side is putting the hot oil on the fish after steaming. The oil splatters everywhere. Tough to keep the kitchen clean!you should try!

But you see that’s the difference: Hawaii beef stew is beef/tomato base whereas Haole beef stew is just beef stock gravy thus Hawaiian stew red/orange gravy color and haole brown in color.

Always love it when Yvonne’s along. Take care at school! Such OG grindz at Meg’s. Soul Chicken and Hana Tea looked so ono. The stew my dad made was a mix of tomato and curry.

Good to see the side view of the Chicken Katsu Moist! Will go back. Used to order Veal Cutlet, Love those Patties. in the past they used to serve it like Beef Cutlet
So Ono! Poor Grace’s Drive inn held the crown for years as the best Chicken Katsu. Not sure if they’re around anymore. The original location on the Corner of Alakea

Parents went here when they were in Highschool, Megs is OG. The old school diner yellow sauce burgers are the OG thing to get forsure from MEGS.
