Semi recently I thought this business with which words are politically correct and which are not seemed a little similar to the story of the Tower of Babel as I remembered learning it when I was younger. At least the outcome of it anyway.

You know the nicest thing about being friends, is that you don’t have to agree with everything that comes out of your friends mouths to like them. So watching a friend stumbling through the blinding heat, in a snake infested creek bottom, fruitlessly searching for a bottle of any kind, while listening to him ramble over subjects a less intrepid person would steer clear of, seems to me a perfect time for an intervention. As in someone get this man a cool wet cloth for his hot brow, a seat in a soft chair in the shade, and a cold adult beverage to wet his parched throat! All that talking can make a person hoarser than an opera singers seven hour aria.

I belong to the Choctaw Nation – separate from the Choctaw Band. Either term will do. We recognize that โ€œIndianโ€ also refers to people from the country of India and could be confusing, so Native Indian is fine. American Indian is also fine. Many American Indian high school mascots are called โ€œThe Redskins,โ€ so we generally donโ€™t get upset about that, either. In fact, the word โ€œOklahoma,โ€ which used to be the Indian Territory comes from the Choctaw โ€œokala humaโ€ that means โ€œred man.โ€ It was just a means of identification. As we called you โ€œwhite man.โ€ It wasnโ€™t offensive. I think, however, that of people are trying to make it offensive.

With being a Cherokee I always say native American Indian . There will always be someone out there to start a unnecessary political debt on who should be call what ever it is . But my opinion is a jackass will always be a jackass.

Man I laughed so hard when I saw Zach’s video of the horse chasing ya’ll! I think part of the reason it was so funny was watching Zach’s face while that horse was attacking….lol

Im from england and call them red Indians cos you have Indians that live in india who are totally different race of people. I think all red Indians are beautiful. The way they look and act. Wish I was one.

  18. @davidg813 on July 13, 2024 at 1:40 pm

Why would White settlers here from a different country call the people living here on this soil "Indian’s" when they were not from the nation called India? It makes no sense. Just call them Natives! Why attach anymore than that to it like what the White Man decided to call this continent. I’m sure the NATIVE’S did not refer to their lands as America! Tribal Natives with Tribe names is all we need because that is what they were and still are.

I lived in Cherokee N.C. for awhile, young and old referred to themselves and others as Indian. My great grandmother was mostly Apache and she would say Indian. Rhanks for your videos. And the flight to all meet each other would be fun.

  24. @nascarmommam5915 on July 13, 2024 at 1:46 pm

Enjoyed the stories and talking. I was not offended, thatโ€™s all gone overboard but ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ it is what it is. Hummm I donโ€™t recall this creek ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” but itโ€™s sure nice. Darn though didnโ€™t find anything. Doesnโ€™t matter to me because the talk was good. I guess Iโ€™ve always said Indian but probably like other races, there will be some that like one name over another and others prefer the other name. ~ Texas

  25. @brandonstewart5877 on July 13, 2024 at 1:48 pm

This might be the best video I’ve seen you post. You may not have found anything but the words you spoke made it great. If you ever make it to Kentucky to explore I can show you some good spots and we can hang out and talk.

  26. @BirdnanBarry on July 13, 2024 at 1:49 pm

I have been chased by a horse and shoulder checked. I was walking through our back pasture to the neighbors (Judge Quiggleyโ€™s)pasture to let them know we had a fence to mend between the two. His horse just didnโ€™t like me walking through and kept building up steam. I didnโ€™t run but as he came close I was ready and yelled / waving my arms as I moved out the way. On the Native American or Indian topic, I have been to several reservations and most prefer to be classified as Indian. I my myself donโ€™t like being put in boxes, I am human. My color is white my heritage is German/ English/ French. If you think every white person has been privileged you would be wrong. Many white communities are racist against their own color based upon income/ attire/ sex/ attitudes…

  27. @jolenewandersee7047 on July 13, 2024 at 1:51 pm

I think horses are sometimes like humans. Every once in awhile you find a ornery one.

  28. @karenandrews8695 on July 13, 2024 at 1:51 pm

Let’s just treat everyone as we would like to be treated. As far as Indian, native American, African American, black, person of color, is a individual guessing game.

As far as Woodstock goes, fighting was the only sin not on display. Absence of fighting and getting along was "nice", but there was plenty of sinning going on. Just saying!

I was metal detecting a horse farm, and a bad boy horse came running up to me.. fortunately they had him corralled and I was on the other side of the fence. This horse kept charging and kicking at me, and I noticed they had tied a ribbon to it’s tail. I backed off thinking maybe he can jump that fence. Later the owner said that’s the big trouble maker of the bunch who introduced himself to me. I asked why the ribbon and he said it was a warning that he was a big bad boy lol!

I was about 2 miles into the woods from the road once following a creek near Praco & I came around a corner and scared a wild hog. It ran away from me just long enough for me to give a sigh of relieve before making a U turn (not a stop and about face, but a race track like turn)& come after me. I NEVER go into the woods without my 1911,a 38 or a 22 rifle but that day I didnt even have my rubber boots on (just seen a blue mason jar and had to stop) but not having those boots probably saved me cause I was able to run faster. I honestly believe if it had been a Hakuna Matata boar instead of a more Alabama feral hog without tusk I’d got hurt. I swear that SOB turned like it was on rails.

  41. @maryr7800 on July 13, 2024 at 2:06 pm

I’ve been around hoses for most of my life, and my husband worked with Thoroughbreds for 40 years. Some horses are just plain mean for no reason, and seem to hate people . It isn’t always stallions either ; people have been killed by mares, too. I love animals, but I don’t want to be around crazy mean ones.
I watched a video recently where someone was asking Navajos if they were offended by having a sports team (Redskins) named after them . Not one of them were offended, and some were even proud of it. Judging by the responses here, I think it’s probably an individual thing whether someone would rather be called an Indian or a Native American.
Great video. EA. Very interesting and thought-provoking.

I believe you found the cleanest creek in Alabama. And I dont think anything you talked about was offensive. The trouble today is this generation (ANY COLOR) gets pissed off about everything and anything and are "owed" the world.

About the China comment; Iโ€™m sorry, I wasnโ€™t trying to โ€œhammerโ€ you, as you put it. Youโ€™re my favorite youtuber, I would never want to hurt your feelings. It pains me to think any comments I made caused you consternation. I believe after this one, Iโ€™ll refrain from commenting on further vids. I have nothing but respect and love for you and your family and you donโ€™t know how much I enjoy your videos, so Iโ€™ll shut my yap from now on. Thanks for all the enjoyment. โœŒ๐Ÿผโค๏ธ
