My neighbor used spray foam around the door, which worked, but he didn’t put it up high enough, and water came in above the 6" of foam. Here on Davis Island, all the first floors of everything were destroyed.

Make sure you keep those letters . They are a part of history. You should make copies and give them to the United States Military. Whatever you do. Do not give the originals away.

Ocean in your back yard with no way to stop inflow. Only a matter of time until they flooded and it will happen again in the future.

You already have power and you are using your contaminated power lines. Spraying bleach will also destroy your wiring in the walls. You are hours away from an electrical fire. Turn off all power until your wiring is inspected by a certified electrician.

I’m from Pinellas and I had a dream about a year ago that I was exactly in Treasure Island walking from the beach between the condos while water rushed through them onto to street causing chaos. I thought the dream was weird because this area is not prone to tsunamis and it wasn’t like a big tsunami wave either just knee-high water rushing through.

This clown should not be giving any advice to people about evacuations. He is a rambling moron. Don’t listen to anything he said.

  10. @richs347 on October 2, 2024 at 7:15 pm

Wow, I used to deliver food around Madiera Beach and Treasure Island area over 6 years ago. Never thought that area would get hit hard by the hurricane even though they didn’t get direct hit, the storm surge is what caused the most damage.

  11. @bryanx590 on October 2, 2024 at 7:16 pm

I am a welder. It’s so easy to build a steel fence with inserts you bolt on that make it solid like a wall during a storm and prevent water from coming in. Any water in the yard is drained to a pump.

  12. @inistiogeismyheart9185 on October 2, 2024 at 7:17 pm

Omg. How is someone that close to water and acting shocked? From there… you expect to be homeless every storm. I kept a giant trunk I evacuated each time to keep valuable items.

Job so strong faith with God and said,"Naked I came forth from my mother’s womb,
and naked shall I go back again.
    The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
blessed be the name of the LORD!"

In all this Job did not sin,
nor did he say anything disrespectful of God.

All people need to evacuate when told to.
Yes, our beaches are destroyed and I’m grateful his father didn’t drown. It’s just horrible here.

This is a prime example of why more people need to get more prepared and think about "Emergency Preparedness Management" for both your home and vehicles. I am a YouTuber under my Full-Name with the same profile picture as this post with 47 videos covering 27 different category topic subjects sharing my personal knowledge and experiences with others to help others improve their overall adult lives. I’ve got videos on building yourself a high quality 24-72 Hour Survival Bug Out Bags, Home and Vehicle Preparedness and Readiness advice videos, several Financial Literacy advice videos, a dozen Cooking Creation Recipes videos, and more! That flooded area should also consider looking into Aqua Dams, Dam Easy door barriers products, and WaterBOB Bathtub Emergency Water Storage Container.

This was not a direct hit, yet they predicted a 5 to 8ft storm surge in that area. What a surprise, most first floor areas were affected. Why people would stay on an island when they predict a 5 to 8ft storm surge, is just crazy. So blame the authorities for miscalculating the storm surge, unbelieveable. Casualties happen when PEOPLE DO NOT LEAVE.

There is a reason why the new codes require the first level is non livable storage, my friends father bought a house there in 02 when the government was giving out 75k grants to raise your house, of course everyone who does still builds out the down stairs, I know so many down there with totally built out 1st floors, they lost big money.

  28. @Jacksonzole57 on October 2, 2024 at 7:39 pm

so im guessing people should all elevate there houses now?

I’m very sorry for your loss. Maybe fix it and sell it and never live near either the Gulf or the Atlantic. There’s a reason Walt built Disney World where it’s at. Good luck and god bless.

They were warned and live in a flood zone why is this even news? I lost a home to wildfire years ago no warning no zone nothing this is a cakewalk compared to fire and nothing left…the news loves commodification making money of peoples losses..sad

  33. @pointsource1 on October 2, 2024 at 7:51 pm

God bless ya’ll. I bought a 1988 toyota mr 2 from an elderly gentleman in treasure island. Anybody that’s heartless and would say these people are insane living on the ocean is an idiot. I love that area.❤

people should NOT ever be living on barrier islands! mother nature gave us these islands to absorb storm surges and protect the mainland, not for living on! this will only happen again and again with great loss of life and property. so when will people learn?
