Lost Gold Mine Found Hidden In A Gossanous Outcrop On The River!

Lost Gold Mine Found Hidden In A Gossanous Outcrop On The River!

We found this lost gold mine hidden in a mineralized gossanous outcrop on the river. The mine produced some high grade gold and silver ore as well as good grades of base metals. The mine adit is small and is associated with other similar high grade gold deposits on the property with VMS hosted in volcanics and siliceous rock. We found some high grade gold ore with free mill gold on the trip and got to see some hictoric gold mine workings on the way.

I love finding old mysterious stuff in the woods, just like those old stone cubes. And, of course, interesting minerals

That’s argillic to intermediate argillic with oxidized sulfides… that will yield 0.3 g/t au, 1 g/t Ag… hehe.. i missed the days exploring southwest breccia in Lobo Philippines.

Awesome knowledge, sweet find! Thanks for sharing bro. Subbed!

I do believe that’s a prospect, not a mine. They dig a tunnel into the vein so they can access material beneath the oxidized surface zone. Some rich strikes have been found that way from veins that were barren on the surface. Looks to me like that one didn’t pan out.

The host rock looks like Limestone to me. I used to work in a Limestone quarry here in Oklahoma and I found Iron Pyrite and kept it.

@6:31 in the video pause it. Can you tell me what that rock with the Square shape in the the grouted grey stone is? I thought you would pick it up. Will keep watching to see if you do. Thanks

  19. alexkaring on September 30, 2022 at 9:37 am

Must be a real pain trying to see anything under all of those organics. Much easier in the Nevada desert where everything is exposed.

  20. Don Azzopardi on September 30, 2022 at 9:37 am

How did they process the ore to get all of the different minerals out?

Hey bud… your video is titled "lost gold mine found…." yet with 1 minute left in your video i had to stop video and make this comment. we didnt watch your video to listen to a geology lesson or find out how much you know about rocks. what a waste of time. im sure whoever is out there with you is thinking put the phone down and look for the damn mine. why do you feel compelled to tell about rocks. nobody cares about the types of rocks and its oxidation. you must already know that though because you had to title your video in such a way to get people watch you talk about rocks. NOBODY CARES about them rocks or how much you know about rocks. learn to title your videos.

I’ve said this before, but I’m so very, very jealous that you live somewhere with such readily discoverable mineral resources. Where I live in southern California, everything is sandstone with a very few minor volcanic features, such as the obsidian outcrop on my neighbor’s family’s ranch about 20 miles away.

J1/2 encounter the ghosts of old prospectors and miners who were unsuccessful since they didn’t have the expertise of J1/2.
