Real S. Florida treasure map – Diving To a Flash of Gold book review
Diving to a Flash of Gold is one of my favorite books. It contains a chart with actual locations of wrecks in South Florida, many of which are treasure wrecks.
If you have ever wanted to go on a treasure hunt and locate the lost or sunken treasure, this is a great book to start with. The treasure wreck sites are leased from the State and it would be illegal to remove anything from them but there are many other wrecks listed that would be fascinating to dive and investigate.
The Florida Keys and coastline still contain many lost wrecks that have yet to be discovered. There are also people who lease out their sites to the public for a fee allowing them to search real wreck sites and reap the rewards of their dives. This is easily one of the best treasure hunting books ever written. Martin Meylach and Charles Whited did a great job crafting a great treasure story that is very readable and exciting even to this day.
If you are a fan of South Florida history and diving and treasure you will enjoy having this one on your bookshelf.
