#64 Abandoned Gold mine south of Dahlonega, Ga.
Please like and subscribe to my channel. We found this mine along with 2 other mines in Lumpkin county, just south of Dahlonega, Ga. This mine was clean, easy to access and was pretty wide for a mine. Tim was with me today his YouTube channel is Northgeorgiacavers.
PLEASE TAKE ME WITH YOU!
Hey Brian…nice one!…surprised to see it…its not winter yet…lol…anyway just off top of my head…looks like an adit to intersect a known vein or lode…thus the straight line of tunnel..that last quartz vein looks to be the one they were digging to…and likely disappointed..it looks like typical quartz vein all the black coating or staining is manganese…not very much iron content..would look a lil more rusty…seen a lot of that…when you try to crush and pan that material it stains your hands like black ink…its a safe bet the good part of the vein or a richer one is somewhere close by…gotta be other works in vicinity ..S.of Dahlonega, eh? Woukd it be one we’ve talked about b4?…btw thx as always for the great vids
I am not eager to crawl into a hole in the ground on a mountain. I’ve found a few myself but usually just end up researching the land history because I don’t have the courage to go inside and my husband is usually working when I go exploring. But. Next time I find one, I know exactly who to call. Haha. Unfortunately, I’ll have to log in to Facebook to reach you but such is life. Have fun out there and thanks for the videos! I made sure to subscribe and looking forward to more!
