  22. Andrew Joffe on January 6, 2023 at 8:49 am

To chime in on this location, you can only go within a certain time period of the given year. The TVA ( Tennessee valley association ) lowers the level of the water in the lake at certain times of the year. They start around October and it becomes able to be walked across around the end of December. I want to say they start raising the level of the water back up around the end of march or beginning of April, but I’m not 100% positive on that.

I recently found a piece here that is crystal clear, in the shape of a triangle the size of my thumb nail, and it had 3 different colors of mud inclusions in the same piece. Red, yellow, and grey. It’s perfectly shaped to be wrapped and made into a necklace 😁

Hey i have a question. Indian boundary campground up near tellico plains TN. You can find on the beach and in water perfectly squared off rocks the size of dice that are heavy for their size. I thought iron but they are not magnetic? Do you know what they would be?

Thank you so much for sharing places in TN! Everywhere I go hiking and creek walking, I’m always in search of signs of any minerals or interesting-looking rocks. All I’ve really found, though, are some crinoid fossils up in northern middle TN and a solid geode somewhere in East TN. I’d give anything to know where/how to find some good stuff close by!
