My friends we have a crooked government if you find treasure keep it to yourself.
interesting story thanks
I heard the dock had like 2/3 of what Doc retrieved from the mine and buried it around the area. This story would sure make a good movie I would watch it. I guess our government wouldn’t want to watch it?
I spent 3 years involved full time in the excavation of Victorio Peak from 1992-1995. Everything you need to know about it is in this article which I have written…….

RICO Act illustrated as government violations by government officials… there’s only one mob in America.
My man, I gave you a thumbs up because you are a good storyteller, but, being from Southern New Mexico and knowing a lot about this and El Chato, etc., you are only about 25% on target, and some of what you are saying is just plain wrong or details that you have to have added in for story value. I can even tell by how you pronounce things. If anyone wants Vic Peak details, then the massive three-volume Gold House book series is pretty much the most definitive source. Only thing better than that is time on the ground in the region, which some of us have. Regarding LaRue, the Organs are a much more likely location for him, and Demetrio Varela is one example of a lesser-known person with direct lineage to the workers. There’s a lot more to the Vic Peak saga, and things in that region, so it is a most excellent rabbit hole. *If you have documentation supporting what you are saying, PM me: I am always open to being corrected and learning more.
It’s a shame that you couldn’t sell gold on the open market back then. Noss could have removed millions of dollars worth of gold and sold it. With his earnings he could have hired the best engineers to properly open the mountain so he could remove the rest of the treasure.
You left out the White Water claims
I’ve seen and read quite a few accounts of this story and have to wonder if it wasn’t the final hiding place of the skeleton canyon treasure they are only 217 miles apart
We have searched along the jornada Del muerto a couple of times, as gold bars were supposedly buried along the trail
The story of larue would make a great movie
Can you imagine how awesome it would have been to be able to see all of this before it was removed. Just discovering the skeletons being tied up like that would have been awesome. I saw this story on Unsolved Mysteries back in the late 80s or early 90s. It was amazing!
The Government took the Gold and whatever was there years ago. I don’t know why you guys keep talking about it. It’s just a area with rocks and hills. Stop wasteing your time.
High ranking officials at White Sands Missile Range had the site excavated in the 70’s and recovered 40 billion dollars worth in gold bars. This was a conspiracy that included Washington DC. A president and some members of Congress became incredibly wealthy at this time, along with high ranking officials at White Sands. My Dad was stationed at The range in the 50’s and 60’s. We lived on the edge of the range. I still do. I am told that there was extensive information of this in some of the Nixon tapes. I have followed and researched this for over 60 years.
I believe Padre LaRue didn’t like the abuse of the native Americans. Sounds like someone I would respect.
They had pictures of diagnosis’s wife wearing the Crown Jewel and swords and the Spanish armor and things but what happened to that is that in a museum somewhere I mean why does anybody ask that question where is the proof of the stuff that he did get out
