Rick: “ I have an expert that’ll come down here and look at it. You want to pawn it or sell it?”
    Customer: “Sell it.”
Rick: “What do you want for it?”
Customer: “10% below your expert’s appraisal.”

  17. Chuck Boyle on January 14, 2023 at 9:34 am

But…but…I thought the Spanish settlers were honorable “people of color”. How could they have enslaved the native “people of color”? Maybe AOC can explain it to all of us white people.

"The expert" takes out the coin with his bare hands… and doesn’t do a spectrum analysis?

If he had went ahead and given him the $2K, this would have one of the best deals in the history of the show…

  22. BSD on January 14, 2023 at 9:37 am

First study the book…. should have gone to pcgs. Get it certified and put it in a Heritage Auction or the like.

  23. Global on January 14, 2023 at 9:38 am

Buyers should never have something appraised in front of sellers.

Everyone commenting how they will never leave there kids family heirlooms..well this exactly why the grandfather saved it..so he can bless his future children or grandchildren. In all reality it’s a coin in bag that sits in a safe…good for him for selling it.

  33. Ryan Weston on January 14, 2023 at 9:49 am

They make it seem like Rick is so knowledgeable but it’s all scripted and they look up all the stuff beforehand.

  34. Heavy Duty on January 14, 2023 at 9:51 am

Sad all these greedy people cannot hold onto family heirlooms and always selling. Nobody has any respect for their grandparents and how cool it is to have something from that generation.

  35. Drones Etc on January 14, 2023 at 9:51 am

Don’t forget these sales make for great TV content, I’m sure paying the $9k above the $2k asking price is nothing compared to the money made by the show and its cast. Pawn Stars new show is "on the Road" not all the good items can fly to Vegas!

  36. Semi Lut on January 14, 2023 at 9:52 am

Going to a pawn shop? A rare coin dealer or collector would probably pay more.

  41. StarVillager on January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am

  43. Wandering Joanna on January 14, 2023 at 10:01 am

He should take it to other pawn shops and see how much they offers and compare to the others whose offering a higher price before dealing with it. Very rare and unusual piece.

I didn’t realise anyone could have such a specific expertise in a few particular type of coins

  46. cmdsandiego on January 14, 2023 at 10:03 am

I can believe a guy sell a coin Worth it 18k for 11k. , That coin in that condition and the historical value is by far more expensive. Ignorance came with a price , you never really value what you have and is always someone who knows it it take advantage!!!! That coin belong to the Peruvian people.
