Thanks for sharing. Love to see your videos . Love those towns too. Nice and peaceful. Just could use loving caring people with substantial amount of income to live.
Train Horns,
Pre-Doppelsr = C7
Post-Doppeler = Bb7
You had a Heritage unit locomotive on that train. I think it was the second unit. A treat.
If I had the funds I’d purchase that fuel station and general store and create a wonderful mini museum and BnB.
The train goes on for days
I’ve been to L.A always thought when saying L.A. people were talking about Lower Alabama ๐ค
THE TOWN OF COFFEE!
Do they have an online store where I can get some sundried possom?
Hey Woo! Love following your trips around the country – especially the bakcroads ๐ By the way – what camera and stand / monopod do you use to film these posts? Excellent sound also ๐
is not around one of those states where Bonnie and Clyde were killed?
Cajun from Louisiana here
Interesting video, and relaxing to watch. Most people move OUT of Mississippi. But not me. I moved TO Mississippi in 2021, about 50 miles west of Adam’s hometown!
Snuffy Smith store I live next door to it
Love that sound of a train!
Looks like you can buy a house cheap in Transylvania-might be nice to retire to!
A lot of the little desolate places depict just how much America has changed over the last 50 years. I remember going through some of these towns back in the mid 60s and they were small but vibrant centers for farmers and locals. Now, much of the farming has been consumed by large conglomerates that ship in their supplies, and current generations have left for bigger cities with better employment possibilities, basically leaving only an outline of history remaining.
Thank you for the vacation reference.. loved it!
Hello! Mississippi was my birth place too! And I do miss Mississippi ! Have you ever traveled through a little town called New Hebron?
You say two thousand eleven. I say twenty eleven. For you, I was born in one thousand nine hundred forty-six.
That’s the route I’ve al2ays taken to go
Back home to LA. It definitely is a lonely
Little area. Makes me sad
Things here have changed dramatically

HIDDEN BACKTOWNS!!!!!!!!!!!
Where are the people?
I’m from Louisiana & Never heard of Transvainia, So Mombish๐ฏ
Dam Mississippi look the same way it did back in the ’80s when I was living there
just one note,,,when you watch a train go by, always film and watch the train facing from the front of the train, to the rear of the train. Just in case, if your watching towards the rear,,,,and ‘something’ is ‘wrong’ with the train,,,,you would see some ‘dust’ ect. that would , or might warn you that something is wrong and you should evacuate your location. ( You just never know !)
Hey dude: Stick to narrating the expose, sing just ain’t you.
I counted about 91 cars on the the train. Beautiful sunset.
You are making nice videos but you are an Energy Vampire…
Grits, Tabasco county, corrugated metal sugarcane plant ,alligator assassinated south of Lake Charles, 11foot gator by Grand Cheniere crawfish?farm with coffee cans suspended in pond, Morgan city casino barge, Mississippi flood control near Buddy Guy’s house, Yazoo flat earth society
On Goolge, Street View, the sign in 2014 said Community Grocery and had the full phone number. Maybe it was open in 2014.
Well I ain’t puttin out my cigar!
The goblins in the pond was outta’ sight!
Don’t you know that the actress, Stella Stevens, listed Hot Coffee, MS as her hometown?
I love taking the backroads but donโt always have the time to take the long route. Thank you for taking the time so that we can enjoy these side adventures!
That coffee place in Hot Coffee really missed an opportunity to make money by not having a website. They had no idea that nearly 700,000 people would see their place in the next year. Even if one out of every 1,000 people wanted something from their shop, they lost 700 potential customers. I just saw this video for the first time today and was ready to buy stuff for my dad, a coffee fanatic. When I couldn’t find a website, I told him about the place and he wanted something from the store.
My Grandfather whom passed in 2004 had a hunting camp in Crosby, Mississippi.
I googled the Farmhouse at Transylvania and it’s back in business. Looks like there is a new owner who reopened the place last year.
I’ve traveled up and down hwy 65 through Transylvania my entire life, I’ve been at the school a few times back when it was open. One time they thought I was the new kid and gave me a whole tour before anyone realized. Lots of memories. Supposedly there’s some old Indian burial grounds near there. It’s so sad to see everything in disarray. The school is now for up for sale if anyone is willing to restore it.
Having been born and raised in Mississippi l love seeing some of these small towns lm familiar with ,kinda sad,lm 64 years old and remember them as active communities, good to see renewed interest in visiting them
