Gold Prospecting on The Snake River in Idaho. results of 4 days.

Gold Prospecting on The Snake River in Idaho. results of 4 days.

The video explains a lot. My total results were way off the mark.
After 4 days my totals were 28.7 grams.
with today’s gold price. that gives me a total of Total gold value is $1,546.09.
That’s not bad for only 4 days of work.

I want to Thank Mr. Fossickers for all the patience he gave me. We talked several times on the phone. He gave me great advice on how to use the Pyramid Pro pan properly.

Hope you get something out of the video.

Pard you started the video west of American falls. Well the boat docks are western edge of massacre rocks bonanza bar is across the river. And it was dredged in the 1800s. Your camp ground is in Wyoming. Nice video. Yes the gold is there.

Your wrong it’s 22k over my way in California why would you skip 22k when it almost pure now you are a fruit loop 18k gold is made of other metals because to have something 18k it has to be mixed made from 24k there is no were in the world we’re it just becomes 18k it is one of the two 22 or 24 then man makes 18k 14k, 10’k is mixed with other copper and other alloys with you saying it’s 18 you be knocking down 4 karet God did make anything less than 22 -24 man made 10k 14k 18k not god

Watching your video I was struck by the lack of extremely fine gold flakes that you mention.
The Snake river, if anything, is known for the difficulty of retrieving those extreme fines, as mentioned in ‘Gold in the Snake river’. By, Lawrence L. Dee, Geologist
I believe you were lucky to have hit that coarse gold in such abundance.
But I believe if that coarse gold existed today for you, the location was either missed by the ‘Old Timers’, or they felt the clay that contained it (As you mentioned) was too difficult to work for it.
I worked for a time on a large mine in Carlin, Nevada where the gold was locked in rocks and had to be removed after the rocks that contained it were crushed.
If that gold was locked in rocks, how much more might have been released into the Snake river as river gravels broke down the similar host rock along its banks.
We expect fines are abundant in the Snake 100,000 times to each piece of coarse gold as you found. How much more that ultra fine gold that is invisible to the naked eye exist as opposed to those fines seen in a pan?
Gold leaf used in gilded signs in 3X3" by 25 sheets is quite heavy, though no more substantial than the dust off a Butterfly’s wings, you cannot touch the sheets or they disintegrate.
Find a way to capture such ultra fines in a sluice, and I think you’d be rich pretty quick!

My cousin spent a lot of time up there in Petersburg I think and the tribes were very welcoming to her, and my son got into sweat lodge, Native American church and Sundance and also studied with some of the S. American tribes and learned how to prepare ayahuasca and San Pedro and know who to speak to about the sacrament used in the N.A.C. peyote and is trying to use natural medicines to heal his body since his Drs in Oregon took away the meds prescribed in Hawaii….and it’s dangerous and sometimes deadly to do that…but his dr was a meth head/dealer before he finished his schooling…my son thinks he has plenty of dr friends to write whatever he needed or needs whenever he desires then treats my son like a drug seeking addict who never had 10 years of sobriety before he broke his back on Maui, attempting to save a young man from drowning he lifted well over a ton and it has left him sooo broken, he does everything he can but if he works his but off for a week he can hardly get out of bed for a month unless he gets extra pain meds and adderal so his body doesn’t shut down on him and tries to sleep either a few hours a painful, nightmarish sleep, or 16 hours where he gets’ up after 8 has coffee takes his heart and blood pressure meds and he’s out again…drives him crazy, cause he loves geology, prospecting, smelting and refining although the snake don’t seem to need purification….anyways thanks a million for what you shared and he is going to order one of those pyramid submerged clay breaker and nugget collector…..God bless and if ya ever wanna go back to the snake, oh shoot, your coming from the S.E. and we are NW Oregon….but he is a hard worker even though he’s busted all to hell he surprises me, but it’s hard to watch him recover after doing all he can…thanks a million and if you. ever want help please call us at 503-939-2731 my wife Cindy’s number, and tell her it’s about the Snake river vids or if you can reach my son his number is 808-298-9207 but due to his nearly getting beat to death with a hatchet and a year later with a 2×2 his traumatic brain injury is just letting him communicate better now. that some healing has taken place…. or dear ol’ dad just say you are the man who did so well on the Snake river and maybe we can have twice the work and 4x’s the take….who knows, either way thanks a million for sharing. God bless

I’m over in PA and can only dream of getting gold like that but dream of Idaho plenty. I do have a Pyramid Pro but havnt used it much other than trying it out. I do love my classic estwig pan and I heap it high and never classify. I do love finding crevices that are lined in clay and I’ll break out that thing to break that clay down vs my fingers next time. 😁

I was born in kenai Alaska. Moved to Idaho in my 30s. Found 98% gold in California. Found 86% gold in Alaska. found 50% gold in Nevada and Idaho. Found 100%gold in all those states. Just depends on the size of the gold. Flour gold is 24 karats . Nuggets have more impurities. Some have a lot of silver, such as Idaho and Nevada. Snake gold is fine. Dug all over the snake and salmon rivers . Thanks for giving up American falls. Was a secret. LoL since 1860. Oh well some dumb sap always talks. Or videos. Got some friends that are Inupiat. Also some Inuit and tlingit. Good finds.
