The gold wasn’t found "near" Baguio. It was found in a man made cave in the Mountains in Ifugao Provence. Guess where Yamashita was captured, Kiangan, Ifugao. He was captured there fleeing from the US Forces. Strange, why would someone "flee" deep into the mountains with no way out, It is literally a road to nowhere. Is quite a distance from Baguio.

Roger Roxas lived up the hill from where I lived in 1971. I remember the "raid" in his home well. It was a residential area, no military nearby. But that night there was a lot of activity and military personnel at 1:00 – 2:00 AM. They had all of the roads closed off. I saw them load the bars and "bronze" Buddha on a large truck.

Based on the storytelling after the government take away the buddha roger let them free, but roger continues to shout out to the media to confront the president for the buddha. If he stops that and find a way to full-out the other gold bars then he got something started and not died as a poor person. Maybe he can start a new life peacefully.
