My dad used to tell me that if I ever with Natalie taking there to go down to the bridge where the old river is was Gypsy used to camp out at when he was a kid some good stuff there by the campground by the bridge old wise tale about the places why that place has never been hit by a tornado they say it’s from the river that keeps some tornadoes away
Hi Shane, thanks for sharing your experiences with us 🙂 The next time you plan, IF you plan to go back to Kansas see if you can find the old town of Walnut. It’s kinda not really there anymore but the last time I was there, (several years ago), there was still the old 76 gas station on a corner. I don’t remember the name of the roads but I’m guessing it hasn’t been searched much. It wasn’t when I was there. Ppl left and pretty much never looked back. I can’t remember why they left. I think Walnut is the correct name. HH

Dang Shane. Wished I would have known you were coming to Kansas I would have met up with you, and brought my metal detector. You were only 10 minutes from me. I live in McPherson. We could have gone to a little town named Kannapolis. Fort Harker is there. Built in 1866. The calvary also had caves along the river. There was also a Indian settlement outside the fort grounds.
Right on Shane, great finds. I found a 1925 wheat penny a few months ago in the yuba River. Good times 🤙
My mom and dad was born and raised there I was going to go back and look for my dad’s mom’s wedding ring that she lost in the backyard I still got to go do that haven’t gotten back there I am in Long Beach California I’ll get back to you soon the city is a mile by 1 Mile Square Main Street is made out of brick

It may (or may not) surprise you to know that I detected part of that park some 20 years ago. A buddy of mine from here in Golden was hired as the city manager of Lindsborg, so I dropped by for a visit. My recollection was that I thought I was not the first to search it. Have detector, will travel. p.s. I don’t recall that I found even a wheat cent. Nice! – SB

Thats cool your visiting 50 states. Theres a place in Oklahoma called Beavers Bend by Broken Bow. The lake at Beavers bend, the ground where we walked into the water had alot of quartzs crystal pieces

Cove Fort Utah, has been there since the 1800’s and they have found gold in that area. Plus gpaa claim right next to it

Nice this is my home state, I grew up in Kansas. Also for treasure hunting in Kansas parks, you might have had better luck in a park in Fort Leavenworth, since Leavenworth was Established in 1827 and Lindsborg was Established in 1869.

Shane, the old Historical district would be great to detect. I worked on a lady’s ac her house was built in 1865. I don’t know if you can detect on them, I guess you have to have owner permission. Galveston TX, was a very old town and Had a major Port where ships and trading were done. Jean Lafitte was a famous pirate and robbed the Spanish Galleons. San Antonio had a lot of missions and one was the Alamo, In 1836 was when the battle was fought for Texas Independence. we lost that one. I thought it was interesting that Jim Bowie bought slaves from Jean Lafitte. He also made friends with the Apache Indians and had some silver mines in San Saba Texas. The Apaches got mad at him and he blasted the mines shut. Years later he returned and the land had changed so much he could’t find them.There are many stories of lost treasure in Texas. Maybe you can find one when you come here.

When you come to Arizona there’s gold panning at lynx creek,petrified wood collecting, shadow agate hunting, quartz crystal collecting at diamond point in Payson or fire agate collecting you decide lol or maybe a little of each the quartz crystal collecting is only oct to feb it’s at a higher elevation so before the ground freezes solid is best.let me know the crystals would be great in your paydirt in my opinion and it’s public but the other options are great as well I would just have to show you the other collection areas great vid thx for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
