    Put them in a depository

Most burglars know the old trick of hiding valuables in the freezer. And some of these idiots will actually linger around to eat food from your refrigerator and freezer. I would never hide valuables there. Never hide valuables in the main bedroom because that is the room burglars search most thoroughly. The master bathroom is also a poor choice for hiding things because burglars search for prescription meds there.

When you have kitchen cabinets that do not go all the way to the ceiling, lay some coins up there — a burglar will probably not check up there. Put a small container of coins behind the washer and dryer — a burglar is unlikely to move heavy appliances to check behind them. Or unscrew the vent cover over an HVAC wall duct in any room except a bedroom and put some coins there. Put some coins in jar-size waterproof plastic containers and bury them in various places — in the crawl space, under the back porch, in the attic insulation near the eaves, in the center of a backyard flower bed, under the children’s sand box…

Make a little "x marks the spot" map of where you have hidden your coins and keep it in a bank’s safety deposit box or in a sealed envelope addressed to your heir next to your most recent will and in the safe keeping of your attorney. And make sure your spouse knows where the coins are hidden just in case you do not survive the disaster but he or she does. And be sure to move any hidden coins before a repairman will be working near there and could stumble upon the stash of coins.

    silver is so much fuuuuuuun!
just don’t hide it so well you lose it 🙁 my silver quarters, no matter how hard I tried, I’d always lose them. total bummer.
which is why I put mine under the kitty litter box, where nobody dares to go!!!!!!!!

  7. UNoBugMe1 on May 30, 2023 at 7:55 am

I have a gas fired fireplace that I don’t use anymore. I take white birch logs and hollow a few out and place my valuables into them and cap them with the same wood but leaving the bark a few inches to accept the cap. I’ll hollow out 2out of 5 of them and stack them in the stove. I call them You’llhidelogs, instead of Yuletide logs. Run with it cause I never patented it.

    I have an idea,
get a fish tank aquarium filled plentiful with rocks and plant the coins down under all of it

    Maybe I’ll try that

Kinda kool if you think about it
People would honestly believe it was just fake gold place there for an aesthetically pleasing to the eye purpose

If I had tons of money to be able to do that and not be worried at risk of losing it that’s what I would do

  16. samantha porter on May 30, 2023 at 8:05 am

How about in a pile of chicken shit!

  17. Steve Barnes on May 30, 2023 at 8:05 am

Just make sure a trusted family member / friend has an idea where to look, should you become suddenly incapable of communicating. (Stroke, death, …. )

  18. T Money on May 30, 2023 at 8:08 am

I think the paint and ice cream ideas are great, but personally I would first vacuum bag seal them, then shove them in there.
As shown you had the paint coins in ziploc but ….vacuum seal is a better seal than ziploc.

  19. lashuan Jones on May 30, 2023 at 8:10 am

Where did you get your case from to store your silver coins in that’s shown in this video?

  20. MichaelD on May 30, 2023 at 8:10 am

What about natural disasters? In the ground ok. In the house, maybe not so much. What about an accidental death? How many family know locations, if any?

  21. Timotheus Babcock on May 30, 2023 at 8:12 am

  29. Minuteman69 on May 30, 2023 at 8:28 am

I have hidden stuff only to forget where I hid them.
I found one of my kids Christmas gifts two years after I hid it.
I do have a couple secure places to stash stuff. I am one to hide things in plain sight.

  41. Slapdat HughJass on May 30, 2023 at 8:37 am

Slap’s “Ten Commandments of Home Storage”:
    1) If using a safe, bolt it down and load it with barbells or other VERY heavy weights.
    2) Store some decoy/sacrificial money or coins in an easy-to-find location. Then hide the good stuff well.
    3) Unless you use a safe, never hide your stash in a bedroom or bedroom closet.
    4) Same as #3, but insert “study”.
    5) Forget hollowed-out or phony books… this old trick is too well known.
    6) Avoid storing on any type of shelf or bookcase. Thieves will simply sweep out or tip these over.
    7) If you’re like most folks, you’ll want frequent access to your stash… don’t make access too difficult (behind drywall, buried in the yard, etc.).
    8) Unless using a safe, the best hiding spots are usually either in plain sight and highly likely to be overlooked, or they’re multi-layered (meaning you have to move this, shift that, lift this and open that in order to access your stash).
    9) Make sure a trusted partner (spouse, financial planner, estate attorney, etc) has a sealed “open in the event of my death” letter describing where your stash is hidden.
    10) With the exception of #9 above, NEVER EVER talk about your stash or that it’s in your home!

  43. Sun 🔆 Shine 🔆 on May 30, 2023 at 8:42 am

I’m only three minutes in and already I’m going to tell on myself,

My neighbors would steal my frozen bread

And my toilet paper and my goldfish 🤦🏼‍♀️

  44. Big Swole on May 30, 2023 at 8:43 am

Thieves are too stupid to steal silver, they want dumb shit like tvs and xboxs.

  45. broken dolly on May 30, 2023 at 8:44 am

PVC pipe for the silver rounds, put rounds in pipe cap ends, and bury it or…slide it into a false drainage pipe.

Enjoying the content. I just subscribed. I tried to dabble in Prepping prior to the Pandemic, but when I could not find any TP once it started it became "Game On". Have not looked back since then. I never go shopping without bringing home some Preps. Defensive prepping since 2009.

8:20 I couldn’t stop LOL’ing at the ice cream idea. I think it’s a wonderful idea, but man was that funny seeing the rounds appear when the ice cream was rinsed in the sink.
