Yea they didn’t relocate anyone. A white lady claimed to be raped by a black man and they hung the man and kicked everyone out of the town. If you didn’t leave they killed you and then they flooded the town

  3. Eli Acesa on August 24, 2023 at 7:57 pm

This whole video is an cover up of what they did to the black folks that lived there. Just say they took this land. Flooded it and murder innocent people.
" They told us to swim or drown, most of us drowned"

If you have any respect for history or for the dead, you would not get in that water.

  8. Krystal Judd on August 24, 2023 at 7:59 pm

So they just gone blame the Indians when black people were threatened & killed too?

  9. YoSAmm on August 24, 2023 at 7:59 pm

  10. mary on August 24, 2023 at 8:00 pm

They never relocated the people. They killed and flooded it.

  11. Sarah T on August 24, 2023 at 8:00 pm

So this video just ignores the fact that the people in the area murdered most of the residents in Oscarville. That is the town Lake Lanier is covering. What happened is a white woman was found dead on the in the woods in Oscarville and the usual night riders showed up and burned, hung and murdered men, women and children. Over 1000 people lost their homes, lives and land. I am sure it will not get better at that lake. Part of the healing should start with truth. The dependents should be paid for their stolen land.

  12. K P on August 24, 2023 at 8:03 pm

People in Oscarville were not “relocated”. This was a Black town and the people were burned out of their homes because of hatred and the survivors that lived had to flee for their lives loosing everything. So this on top of whatever else is going is the reason for the curse. Bad karma.

  15. Miss on August 24, 2023 at 8:08 pm

It doesn’t matter what culture it is, it’s always bad luck, and asking for a curse, when you are building lakes over burial grounds. You’re not supposed to drown out old towns to create a man made lake.

May b d legend of mermaid’s existence is true .

  17. TonyC0101 on August 24, 2023 at 8:09 pm

Funny how they chose to leave out the racially charged reasons for flooding the town too.

  18. Kay Ell on August 24, 2023 at 8:12 pm

It the fact that he said they evacuated all the people the lives in this town be fire flooding no dam well that’s not how things went down. This is why it is important to know your history. They know why it’s cursed.

  21. jimtorious Hill on August 24, 2023 at 8:15 pm

I swam where the kids did when i was young

  23. Not_Your_Mom on August 24, 2023 at 8:24 pm

Not only is it cursed for disturbing the burial grounds but also from when they were driven out of their land by the white man aka the trail of tears. I am not Muskogee Creek but I married a man that is and through the years I have heard stories about the curses that’s been done.

  24. Ernest Cameron on August 24, 2023 at 8:25 pm

How u not gone talk about the African Americans not no natives

  25. Bebee on August 24, 2023 at 8:25 pm

You notice how they NEVER mentioned the black town with our ancestors they drawn.

  26. WOO on August 24, 2023 at 8:26 pm

You bury a African town under and wonder why people keep dying there 🤦🏾‍♂️

  27. Robin Simone on August 24, 2023 at 8:27 pm

It’s so funny to me that none of these YT ppl can admit that lake lanier and all those other towns around it where home to very successful and prominent blacks and they couldn’t stand the idea of successfully blacks having a successful and flourishing community and drowned them all while they were still in they homes (all the ones the KkK couldn’t run out of town) the souls of my black ancestors is at the bottom of that lake and they gone continue to swallow y’all up…. Talking about ancient NATIVE grounds…. YEAH NATIVE BLACKS SMH

  28. Victoria on August 24, 2023 at 8:29 pm

This lake provides water to the entire city?? Wow. I don’t doubt it at all that this lake is cursed. There are spirits in that water and they are angry! Rightfully so!! They need to drain that water. It’s LITERALLY a gravesite and should be treated with respect.

  33. Elder Jay on August 24, 2023 at 8:31 pm

Funny they harbor on “Native American “ area neglect the True Facts!
No they did not move the over 700+ African American that lived in Oscarville,Ga.

Research!!! It sickens me how they play down the fact the Flooded an All Black Town to make 700miles of shoreline.

  34. Stormblast729 on August 24, 2023 at 8:31 pm

One of my friends was murdered at Flowery Branch Park right on Lake Lanier back in 1997. He was beaten, strangled, robbed and left facedown in the water with most of his body on the shore. If you go to the park at night, you often feel someone or something is watching you.

Kinda strange doesn’t mention the black town that was ran out of their homes or either killed by drowning or lynching if refusing to leave

  41. Queenie on August 24, 2023 at 8:43 pm

Why would anybody swim in that graveyard?

  47. Aiden McNeeley on August 24, 2023 at 8:53 pm

One of the many time I’ve been to lake Lanier me and my dad decided to go tomargarita ville which is a water park on the lake but our first time ever going to the park someone drowned he was 20 years old I saw the whole thing unfold under my eyes life guards stared sprinting dnr boats helicopters it was surreal

  48. Bebee on August 24, 2023 at 8:53 pm

You mean the black people, not just the people 🙄

  49. Gashshiningstar on August 24, 2023 at 8:55 pm

Y’all flooded a whole town full of black people (many who were alive) and attempted to blame the Native Americans for the mishaps that happened on the grave site aka lake.

I tell you, white people will do a lot of things; being completely honest ain’t one of them.

  50. PHAmily /G357 on August 24, 2023 at 8:56 pm

The Ancestors are definitely haunting Lake Lanier thats Karma comimg back
