My first deer rifle was a pretty 64 Winchester. Got many deer with it dad and my brothers called me rifle man because if the buck was moving I was flinging lead lol
This was definitely one of your best creek walks to date. And I agree with what you said about gathering the trash; you’re not there to harvest everyone else’s garbage. It needs to be a community effort 👍 You did an awesome job when talking to the young guy; hopefully he did listen to your advice and took much of your entire conversation to heart 🙏

Champion started on the back shelf of K-Mart..! Around my area the homeless start out with “Can you spare some change”..??? But they start talking gospel to get to your heart strings…. Thanksgiving before last I found a dead homeless guy at one of my favorite creeks, I still think about that guy and what put him in that position. It was the day after the first below freezing night of the year, he had on all new clothes and shoes… It was so sad…
Hope your thoughtful words help the homeless young man. So good you respected him enough to not record your conversation. You have a good heart, and definatly offered sound advice – I pray it takes root. Thanks for sharing.

I never gave homelessness much of a thought until recently. Seeing more and more of it all the time. I started to research a little and found that about 40% of homeless ppl work 40 hour per week jobs. Minimum wage in 2009 was $7.25. Minimum wage now is $7.25. In most states a person needs to earn $21.21 per hour just to afford rent for a modest 2 bedroom home. With a little over $16 per hour being the average income. The middle class is disappearing. For those of us that own our homes and being homeless has never really been a threat, it’s easy to forget that their are ppl sleeping on the streets. Children sleeping on the streets. The poverty problem in america is solvable. The 400 wealthiest ppl in America combined wealth in 2009 totaled $1.7 trillion, today it’s over $3 trillion. There’s something with that. I think that is a contributing factor to so much drug abuse in this country. I mean, that’s not even considering inflation for the lowest income ppl since 2009.
Sorry for the long post.
I don’t believe there is a commandment against homelessness but I have not got all the way to the back of the book so I could be a wrong.

No such thing as a chance encounter. So cool you were able to chat with him and sad that his parents went through so much to bring him here and make him part of their family only to have them break up and now none of them talk. Breaks my heart for this young man.

You just saved a young man. You gave him your time & advice. EA YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE. GOD GUIDES US TO WHERE WE NEED TO BE. (As AMERICAN’S we are all one paycheck away from being homeless. This a true fact). I’m overjoyed he knows JESUS. THANK You EA for telling him to enlist so he can achieve all he wants. A fresh great start to the good life family friends & an income.. Yes anyone can become homeless! 😲 because of different reasons! But as a teenager in 1970s I lived in a shack and no running water we had to carry it! Had an outhouse! And no car! Not much money! But now I feel blessed to have a nice apartment with running water & electric! 😲 and washer & dryer & dish washer! I still can’t afford a car! But you can’t have everything? .. Who sleeps on a tree limb, like how would that be preferable to the ground? I fear he might have been contemplating hanging himself from that tree. I hope I’m wrong but if not, you may have just saved his life. If he was in a Russian orphanage to the age of seven, he was likely neglected severely, giving him a much later start on mental and emotional skills that most kids develop in those years.
