Treasure Hunters Locate Mountain Obelisk & Natural Wonder

Eddie and I head into the mountains in search of a natural wonder called “The Snow Hole”, said to contain snow year-round. However, our main goal is to locate the Tri-Point monument, marking the intersection of Vermont, Massachusetts & New York.

The snow hole was cool. The border/boundary marker a little disappointing, but I appreciate your efforts to find it. I enjoy your adventures.

  7. Andy 105 on November 27, 2023 at 8:18 am

It’s not a monument, it’s a warning sign… “Caution : You are entering New York”

  8. Alice Maraglia on November 27, 2023 at 8:18 am

  16. User User on November 27, 2023 at 8:28 am

If you have goelocte turned on on your phone you could take a photo and that wold give quite a precise location for the marker , you could have then put the coordinates here for anyone interested in going there

  17. Duck Landes on November 27, 2023 at 8:35 am

Did you write down the GPS coordinates so you could more easily find it if you wanted to go back?

There are ‘trig’ points all over the uk. I understand that King George 1st lost his entire army in Scotland during the Jacobite wars,1745. He then ordered a survey of the entire country which was called ‘Ordnance Survey’,which has continued to modern day.
Scale changed from 1:63360 to 1:50000.
The obelisk markers were used to create triangles to measure the country. Surveyors theodolite part of the equipment. Used to create railways too.
I am no expert but I hope this gives a clue to help investigate further.

From 1300 into the 1800s as I understand it there was a little ice age, snow remained year round in several northeastern locations. There was one year in Boston that Snow in the shade never melted. I too have been mislead many times by Google finally bought a dedicated hiking GPS no data connection needed, just access to the sky. God Bless Ya

lol, those kids are too young to have ‘probably’ been taught or even tried to learn real ‘orienteering’. Maybe they have, I could be wrong. No, I’m probably not wrong…if they had, they would have had a ‘real’ compass and a quad map of the area. People of all ages today are way to reliant on a fragile network of electrical impulses.

4 years ago I fell and fractured my back
I used to be really active doing long distance charity events, hill walking, home here in Scotland and taking my dogs out for long walks. I cant do any of this due to the damage and subsequent pain but I get to enjoy the countryside and wild adventures watching your videos. Thank you. X

I am 56 years old and we live on a farm directly across from paint Creek State Park. After living here 30 years I found an Indian campfire ring on our property. New subscriber and I could not wait for the sun to rise to get out and explore today with our grandchildren. U have inspired me!

I like your commentary for several reasons but please do not have others chiming in. Most people turn into camera hams and just suck at commentary. Thank you.

  44. shadymaint1 on November 27, 2023 at 9:05 am

It would be cool to bring a detector to the snow hole. Who knows what treasures are under all those leaves at the bottom. Obviously people have been there before.

  45. M. Asquino on November 27, 2023 at 9:05 am

Always remember sun rises in the east and sets in the west. You can get a better idea of direction by setting a 90o arc. Point to the direction with one hand, and the other do a 90 degree angle. Or a 180 deg arc

  46. CrossGrain Wood Products,LTD on November 27, 2023 at 9:06 am

I’m sure if this "snow hole" is real, global warming is having an effect on how long the snow is there. In the 1800s that wasn’t a worry and snow could have been there year-round.

Pause right at 3:12 on counter. . . Between their heads at the tree line, is someone who past on, yet raised awaiting the return of Jesus Christ. . . Im not kidding. . .
