Part 1: Ancient Rock Treasure Map, Spanish Smelting Pot and Mines – Uinta Mountains, Utah

Woody Olsen is probably one of the most knowledgeable person I know regarding lost treasures of the Uintah Basin. He has probably forgotten more than most people ever even knew (myself included).

Without guys like Woody, our history and legends would be lost forever.

I met Woody Olsen at 2023 Moon Lake Gathering. He bought my book and built four individual modern light weight ball bearing dowsing (used SUNSHINE 5348) with one-tenth ounce dowsing rod loads of gold tapped onto one, silver, silver tapped on the other, cooper tapped onto one, and I can’t remember what was tapped on the other so there was no need to remove and reattach dowsing rod loads. Unfortunately I was extremely ill from a mild heart attack without being able to be on my feet for very long, but once I showed Woody Olsen the buried electrical cable, he was ably to show those interested how to dowse as we do. Man, Woody sure can put a lot of energy into the dowsing rod spinning (helicoptering) over the exact center of the buried electrical cables with it looking as though dowsing extremely high grade gold. After my heart surgery I am looking forward to dowsing with Woody because I have finally met my match on dowsing rod balancing. Learn the physics involved and how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod by reading and studying the book, The Art of Dowsing – Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95), by Michael Fercik

I enjoy your videos having been born and raised in the area. In my younger years I chased after rainbows looking for that elusive pot of gold the Spanish left behind. Every waking minute I wasn’t at work for 13 years I hiked the trails and followed the clues and have seen many of the same things you show in your videos.
I wanted to explain a symbol you showed at 3 minutes 47 seconds into your video here. It was a trail maker a very dear friend of mine used in his youth. He dodged the draft during the Korean Conflict and his trail makers range into Canada. They can be found in Idaho as well as Western Montana. Reason I know this is I showed him a picture I had of the same making and he laughed and explained it to me. I won’t mention his name here for protection of his family. He has been gone from our world as we know it a number of years now and I miss our conversations.
Keep up the good work and thank you for documenting the things you see.

Once again, thank you for a wonderful video. That first carving at 3:49 was made by a prospector/ treasure hunter back in the 1970s. I cannot recall his name, but you’ll find that same carving all the way up to Canada. There is a video about him on youtube. I think his nickname was "Cat".. Woody looks like real treasure. Those old guys are disappearing fast. Would love to see an interview and hear his stories!

I wonder how long it took to carve out and dig the mines by hand. I can’t imagine doing it without dynamite
