I am a 4th generation California mother lode/gold discovery area resident and prospector (since I were 5 yrs old diggin with my grandfather. Kinda by this vid looks like you are on the Yuba up high in the canyon. Looks like his mine may have "landslid" down the canyon. I am 70 now, still looking, though the hardrock mine I worked at 5 yrs old is just around the corner from where I live now. There is a stretch of the American river there is literally a 1 1/2mile of cliff where just a few years ago there was a main road (paved, near Hellhole reservoir ) going all the way to the Sacto. valley. The three big fires recent to this area have caused terrain changes, some just within the last 3 years. I love wheelin’ Moab,being a Lockhart basin and Eleanor river experiencer. yes, that sand is a whole different thing,

Hey – if you are trying to find a legitimate patented mining claim, your best best is to take all the information you have and head for a BLM field office which is near the claim and look at their Master Title Plat which lists every mining claim in known areas from 1840 to now. If it was a recorded claim, the record of its location and Ed’s name will be there. Also, if you wish to entitle Ed’s claim into your name and have it be your mining claim going forward, there are BLM field officers who can help you find the original claim which will allow you to have it re-entitled.

16:07 there was a lot who believe this to be a bay leaf. I have those on my street but they never have been fragrant here.
Also never recall the leaves in the jar or stew to have much smell.
Is it possible this is eucalyptus? Looks as if they were brought over from elsewhere and some have been considered evasive.
Eucalyptus is also very fragrant, I’m no arborist and I’m not positive, but I’m going w eucalyptus.

yes, be mindful of rattlers. They will always try to get away from people. And are good at warning you they are near. But its easy to surprise them and if you get too close (within 5 feet) they will bite. Its the young ones that you need to watch out for. So yes, be afraid of them

Go in and pull the geology of the area.
You can find the areas Gold would travel with.
This allows you to focus your attention on the areas that can actually produce Gold.
It’s called Bay Laurel. Native to the Pacific Northwest. It’s used as a seasoning in all kinds of foods.
