I think that (if it is real) the only chance of solving it would be to have a computer at the time it was created. 350 different versions of the Declaration – makes you wonder how many different versions there were of any other reference text he used. You would have to be intimately familiar with his personal library and his own spelling/grammar idiosyncrasies, to even have a chance to decipher.

Has anyone tried using the solved second code as the key to the first code (which of course would be the key to the third code, which says that it’s all a fake, but then gives you a coupon for free nachos at the tavern from whence it originated)?

I’m guessing it was all made up by the guy that was selling the indecipherable code that supposedly reveals the location of the treasure.

Very probably like the gold stolen from the American people and stored at Ft.Knox. It was dug up by the government and spent long ago.
I guess the cipher breakers would’ve looked at what other common books or documents were readily available to Beal at the time?
I think I would start with The Bible and work outwards to whatever a local library might have.

I have no idea if the treasure is there or have ever been there. But when it comes to the ciphers it would defjnitely be possible for Beale to have constructed a code that not even a supercomputer would have been able to break without the key.
It is highly unlikely that someone could have buried (all by himself?) so many TONS of gold and silver in such a relatively small area without someone else noticing, coming back later and taking it. That is, if it even existed in the first place.

Sovereign is another term given to Beale Party
Maria is spanish name for Mary
Juana is spanish name for John
Isabella is spanish name for Elizabeth
Highness means mountain
Voyage means Journey

In an average piece of text of (time appropriate) english, there are letters that are used an average of X-percentage right? (wiki: Letter frequency)
And with all the numbers in the encrypted version there are symbols that make up a certain percentage as well. could those be matched?
