A Haunting GHOST STORY From New Jersey

A Haunting GHOST STORY From New Jersey

Back in the 1920’s North Fifth Street in Camden, New Jersey had many wealthy people with houses to match their financial standing, but over the years the neighbourhood became depressed and downtrodden and was a place best avoided especially at night. One such house that was once a respectable private residence was 522 North Fifth Street. From the ground floor rose a turning staircase that led up to two more flights of stairs. The staircase was the most impressive part of the house with a neatly carved wooden bannister framed all the way up and through the house. Unfortunately heavy dust now lay on the floors and its glory days had long since passed. Sometime in the 1950’s the Martin family moved into the large house that was able to accommodate both the parents and two daughters in their twenties.

Would be nice if the people living there could have had the courage to speak and invite the spirits to share the house. But imagine trying to do that while you’re scared half to death!

Have never understood if we have guardian angels and spirit guides why so many souls seem to end up earthbound.

Hope that staircase was salvaged. Too skillfully made to disappear in a collapse of toothpicks and dust.

100 yrs ago people wouldn’t have believed sound and images could be recorded on electromagnetic tape. Hauntings could be an atmospheric electromagnetic recording.

I don’t have to automatically believe just because an empath says a woman died falling down spiral staircase , that this is true! Surely, there must be a Legal Death Certificate.

Omg that incredibly gorgeous staircase was just ripped down. I’m aware that that picture wasn’t the real staircase, but any late Victorian staircase would have been amazing.

  21. @lilmissriss93 on December 19, 2023 at 8:45 am

I’m a little unsure how or why the woman’s young son was with her if she had died from falling down the stairs 🤷🏼‍♀️🤔

  22. @321scully on December 19, 2023 at 8:45 am

A lovely staircase but it must have been a nightmare to haul all that heavy victorian furniture to the bedrooms.
