Glad to be the first to post here — my name is Mike Mantia and I was one of the bartenders who worked with and became friends with J.D., Bobby, Tony and his brother Larry. They were some of the best musicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with and believe be in 30 yrs. I have worked with a lot. R.I.P Bobby Sloane and Larry Rice
I was a student at UK when JD was playing at this Holiday Inn. I stopped in one night with my girlfriend. We had a couple of beers and really enjoyed what was my first exposure to live bluegrass music and boy was I impressed with this group. They were really polished and worked well together.
