The mission was carried out in the most covert manner.
No on-lookers or marina personnel were ever allowed to discover any equipment en-route nor ever had a clue that a major treasure hunt was well underway on their lake.

Hey I went to that island as a kid on a treasure hunt! I seem to remember a sand slide. Anyone else remember that?
Wow…neat story and expedition. We have a lot in common, I had my expedition list and made two trips-expeditions to the Red River, Texas to hunt for the buried gold…1894 Bowie Bank Robbery..Red River Gold Loot, 500 gold double-eagles buried near a once big cotton wood tree. I’ve done my research and on my second trip i had a dowsing tool w/ experience in locating gold. Got three good readings…two were steel deer feeder drums and one strong signal was on the other side of the river…and that’s were they got caught w/o the heavy gold on their horse…OK side. I recommend dowsing to find huge stashes of gold…iron will throw you off…and it (dowsing) appears to work in the hands of a user-believer. Dowsing (balanced antenna)…has to be non-windy day….(I believe dowsing) works with the good-helpful spirits around you affecting things…and/or you belief that you are to find the gold…it’s what the wegi-board is to the malicious, sometimes deceiving spirits. Oh, and here’s the cool thing!!!!, Ready for this….take you map on your desk…get a balanced lever on your finger ask the question…and slowly and carefully run your finger around the map area of the island…and the dowsing needle on your finger will "keep indicating" a spot or two spots…you don;t physically have to be there on-site to dowse but it’s better. I know, i know…nobody believes it….but the truth is there’s forces in the world we don’t understand…and they can be helpful, or a hindrance…always ask for the good helpful ones….they like to help you. I feel the reason for people’s success…lies in being sensitive to things and what’s going to happen today, tomorrow or in the near future…there’s subtle information and gut feelings. You’re either sensitive enough to know you’re attached to the entire structure, ether…..or you think it’s hogwash. We are Genies that control our own future and destiny…careful what you wish for…your become your core essence, core thoughts. Everything i dreamed about as a 10 year old boy has transpired…the good, the bad, the ugly…it all transpired…so dream and believe BIG. I’ll stop before this becomes a manifesto…night!
Did anything ever come of this? I’d agree it’s probably been found. No swamp on the island either it’s all sand. Been going to this lake since I was 3 months old so really curious.
