Abandoned Boat – Pennypack On The Delaware – Northeast Philadelphia
Abandoned Boat – Pennypack On The Delaware – Northeast Philadelphia
Let’s go explore Pennypack on the Delaware together, in search of an abandoned boat that has been there for some time. The story behind this boat is somewhat of a mystery, so I am calling on you to let me know any info you may have on it.

Looks like an old barge. I use to do a lot of duck hunting on the river, both sides and I am very familiar with the areas you do your videos along the river. I am no longer in the area but like watching your videos. The entire Northeast area North and West of Mayfair was not developed until the 1950’s and Parkwood and Morrel in the early to mid 1960’s. But there was entire previous world there Lower Dublin, Byberry Twp, Manor of Moreland.
I think it came from across in jerzy there is alot of boats the orher side an we had a bad storm while back water level was very hjgh and i beleve it got losse from one of those places
I liked the video Tom, very cool, and Wawa coffee is awesome 👍
I would of sacrificed myself to go on
I did a quick search after watching (another great vid I must say 🙂) and saw something about "salvagers rights" and if I read thing’s correctly, it’s kind of like finder’s keeper’s when someone finds an abandoned boat that’s not tied up somewhere. I definitely would’ve checked out the interior too, lol.
I wouldn’t have climbed upon the Boat either, especially when I was by myself, nothing to see on there to really see, with my luck, i would have fell into the drink and became fish food, hahaha!! Another interesting vid Tom, perhaps I’ll bump into you someday. 🍺🍻
Holmesburg Fish & Game Assoc. is right close by as well as the police shooting range.
I was there once but the water was further up and I couldn`t go aboard.
That’s really cool
Those creeks terminate there, not start there. Nit picky, but someone could, in theory, get confused.
If you could have gotten to the right rear there is a number and year stamp on the transom
Dam, you found my boat, thanks I’ll be right down to get it.
Tom, you found the S.S. Minnow, wow, was Gilligan and the professor, MaryAnne and Ginger, and the Howells present?? Haha.
boat was parked off state road near honor foods for about a year on trailer. when the city shut down the public access ramp behind honor foods things went south. that boat was moved several times to othodox an then left in the bus lot of castor ave. dunno who launched it though.
You found Nemo
I was at this park a year or two ago and asked a regular walker in this park if he knew about it. He said this is not the first boat that’s been abandoned at the park. The cops went on board when it was someone newly abandoned to check for bodies or anyone crashing in it. None were found and they just let it be.
Been going there for years. That boat has been there for at least 3 years, possibly longer. That structure on the water around the corner is a floating dock. Seen a tug move a barge off of that dock last week.
Should you return and check out the north end of that park please speculate on that plateau that appears to be 15 feet above normal ground elevation. Can’t miss it as it is on the left side of the path. What is buried there???? Also in the distance to the west of that structure is a bunch of trees and an active Eagles nest. Momma eagle was there and at least one hatchling.
i wanna play gilligans island
