As a poor kid growing up in Appalachia we would take those old clock gears and spin them as tops
I’m not sure what they would have called it but didn’t they use something like your plum bob for spinning yarn or thread for weaving,
Like on a spinning wheel for a weight
A lot of what you found seems to be housewares. Clock, utensil, dishes, harmonica etc… that’s stuff you only keep in the house. Hope you go back and find more…beautiful country, thanks for filming, great adventure…be well, see you next time.
Thanks for sharing.
Two things I would love to find is a bell and a hermonica parts. Can’t wait until I do. Yeah I believe it’s a old homesite. Get back there when you can. Thanks for sharing Todd
Todd a beautiful day to go back and explore. Great finds that prove the existence of a homesite. Keep the history coming. Take care.
I think it was a house site but I think I would go back.
great video and music to compliment it. love your videos so keep them coming Todd. also, happy you are using the Mine Lab
It is part of a draw pull
Nice virgin site you found Todd! I think the first thing you found is a plumb bob. I’m just guessing here, but I think the string would’ve fed through and been tied to a part that completed the point (the part you didn’t find).
I say yes.
Looks like an old house site to me. Nice finds and great video as usual! Thanks for sharing, Todd.
This site could have possibly been detected some time ago. Thus, the homonica reeve was laying on the surface. .. no buttons.
Not everyday can be military button & random coins.
Thxs for bringing us along.
The "plumb bob" looks very much like a bobbin from and old spinning wheel. Good video and I always think of grandpa McCoy in that neck of the woods.
it looks like a plum bob with the screw out bottom missing. I have one
Hello from Knoxville my friend. I think you need to search some more, make some more videos for me to watch on Fridays before we go deciding on whether it’s a house site or not. I was looking for my glasses in bed and found a fork. It wasn’t silver, I checked just plated. Stay safe and I hope he picked a great school along a river that runs by my house.
What is a Crotal Bell?
Looks like these people, were poor. And I have enjoyed another adventure. Thanks.
Hi tawd aquawigger is missin u 😉✌✌
Good job you had some nice finds.I enjoyed your video and good Luck to you.
Todd, good possibility that you have found an old home site. Needs more detecting though. Im sure that you will find something that will give you the answer you are looking for the next time around detecting the property/area. You know the more we detect it the more we find/learn about the area. Congrats on all of your really awesome finds today. We shall catch you on your next adventure my friend. As always Todd, safe an happy hunting/digging. An have yourself an awesome weekend. 😁👍👍
Nice hunt I enjoyed the video, will catch you on the next one. 🇺🇸
Hello my friend l am Early for me so do love your videos and the History love how you explain what the artefacts could be 💟💟💟💟💟
Love, love crotal bells! They evoke imaginings of a wintery sleigh ride!!
Definitely a drawer pull; rings were popular.
You say a utensil of some kind, and you see the contours of what would be the handle. I see a flat hinge of a front door…might just be a homesite.
If she lived alone, finds would be different from those of a family. She wouldn’t be losing or having to replace buttons. I think you need to go back one more time. 👍🏻🇺🇸
The draw pull is of the federal period 1800-1830
