Been hiking and backpacking the Superstitions since the early 80s. Explored most of its canyons, peaks, caves and abandoned mines. Even its Indian ruins. I’ve met dozens of people actively searching for the gold, including former Governor and Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt. Only place I’ve ever been creeped out was the site of an Apache massacre. I’d like to believe the gold is still out there.
