Blackbird: Delaware's Undiscovered Treasure

The area surrounding the Blackbird Creek is one of the cleanest watersheds in Delaware. Despite its proximity to major metropolitan areas, this ecosystem has remained pristine, due to the efforts of local residents who have always recognized its value. Now one component of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Blackbird is slowly being “developed” as a natural area that the public can enjoy in a variety of ways. This program explores this unique ecosystem, its history, and why it has become the bellwether for environmental conservation throughout the state.
