Ive read the same thing.. AND I’m a good researcher, but "I" cannot locate the origin of the first story. So, WHERE is this [as YOU say] "documented" statement found? Again, I cannot find anything.
O.. it ISN’T in.. ‘Flight Into Oblivion’.
    Thanks.

The only hump of a camel back in the Everglades would have to be a burial mound or midden

I always think in the back of my mind… people back in the day GUARANTEED buried / hid treasure all over the place… the "UNDOCUMENTED" treasure mystery appeals to me… war breaks out, sicknesses whatever happens they are the only person who knows about it and they end up in the grave or lost track of it with no other person having knowledge where it would or could be! I try to stay optimistic and think at any point and time we could stumble upon something… gotta love treasure hunting!!

Kellyco used to sell spiral-bound books of every State listing by County the alleged treasures rumored to be found in ghost towns, forts, old mines, or legends like these two by the author/owner. Sadly, when Kellyco changed hands, the books were no longer available.

The troops that gaurded the train were not just Confederate troops they were Florida Confederate troops. Tallahassee was the only Confederate capital that never surrendered in fact every time the union marched towards Tallahassee they were defeated. Florida was one of the last state’s to rejoin the union I believe it was 1868.

Imma go and hunt for that confederate gold. I think I may know of a place where two rivers meet and the land rises.

Noway any of that is gonna be found I would rather look for lost Spanish galleons coming out of Mexico into the gulf. But good luck

I bet they buried it before Baldwin in a swamp. I went to Baldwin High School and im telling you its 1 sqaure mile to this day. I know where the old tracks the confederates used are and its all in pieces now. Wonder why?

I have metal detected for years and I follow this rule, if treasure is lost at sea you might stand a chance at finding it, but 99 times out of a 100 people who bury treasure know where it is and come back for it. And unless they are stupid they never tell anyone. The better bet I have found is to ask people in rural areas about old cabins and especially reclusive individuals. They do tend to bury money and usually die before digging it up.

what if these stories are just to mislead us and their family has kept it secretly withing the family all these years? what if it’s not actually Florida, what if their story’s got mixed around with another tressure story’s.
