    My family used to own the land that the fort sat on. I wish I’d heard this story sooner. Idk if anyone else in my family had heard about it and searched. My great grandfather had many acres and often would use his metal detector. So it’s quite possible.
    As far as I know, no one has found treasure. But
    My Dad and Aunt did find a cannonball in the 70s that was from this time period. It was along the riverbed and they found it while digging with a stick, like kids often do. The police sent a bomb squad to retrieve it.
