Delaware Water Gap, PA 🥾 Waterfall and Lenape Lake Hike

Delaware Water Gap, PA 🥾 Waterfall and Lenape Lake Hike

If you are looking for a short hike in a beautiful place, then the Delaware Water Gap (PA) is the place to go. This loop hike begins and ends at the Appalachian Trail Parking Lot off of Mountain Rd. in the town of Delaware Water Gap, PA.

This parking lot can fill up, so mid-week, off-peak season, and or early arrival is best.

We hiked around Lenape Lake and then to a gravel path. Eventually, a narrow trail leads off into rhododendrons as you approach the waterfall. You will hear the water rushing off the mountain, and then you will approach a clear where you can see the waterfall in the distance.

From here, the trail takes you directly to the waterfall, where you can climb down some rocks to the waterfall’s base.

Keep going on the trail, which leads you to the top of the waterfall and then past cascades and small waterfalls. You will eventually intersect with a gravel trail. From here, you have several options, including:
-turn back to see the waterfall again
-turn left on the gravel path for the easiest path back
-hike to the right to a trail that brings you back to Lenape Lake, a nice trail with winter views of the Delaware Water Gap.

We hike around the east side of Lenape Lake and then back to the parking area on a small stretch of the Appalachian Trail.

We really enjoyed this short hike, with the highlights being the waterfall, winter views of the Water Gap, and Lenape Lake.

We used microspikes since there was some snow on the ground and the trail was slippery.

Happy trails!
