Great video just thought I might watch it again remember all the fun we had it was a great trip hopefully this trip is even better
You teach me much. Here’s a little in return. Turn your chairs over when you aren’t sitting in them. That keeps the snow or rain away from your Butte !

enjoyable watch.
cant wait for you to find a big nugg on video
good luck
Thanks for leaving your nugget jar out there, finally us guys have a chance to find some gold
Snow in July??

Love the desert, headed to Arizona in 2 weeks to do some detecting, don’t feel to bad Gary, it happens, I’ve lost 4 snuffers over the years, one was a pretty painful loss, several grams
Hello Gary. I watch your videos and I love how you do it. I found your channel because I was looking for information about the SDC 2300.
I see that you still use this metal detector. Could you please tell me if this is worth the money or now after some experience with this device you would choose something else for the same money?
I used only X-terra 705 and now I want to buy something more serious.
I like the SDC 2300 because it is foldable and waterproof. I also considered the Garrett ATX, but for some reason I like the SDC 2300 better even though I haven’t used any of them.
Perhaps there is some similar device that is better than these two?
Could you advise something when buying an SDC 2300? I heard there are improved versions. Is this true and which version is better? I will appreciate any advice.

Hi Gary, Thanks for such great videos highlighting the technics that you use. My wife and I enjoy tremendously the videos that you post.
That being said I am going to purchase a metal detector and based on what I have read and you have shown, the Minelab SDC2300 seems to be a great all around detector. What other accessories would you recommend purchasing for the SDC2300? Headset, coils etc Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Keep those videos coming. They are super informative and very interesting.
Awesome video Gary! Thanks for sharing. I would be completely lost mining in that area. Take care, God bless.
Thanks Gary. I’m sitting here at home shivering and aching all over with a flu bug or maybe covid. But watching your video made me smile for twenty minutes and forget the rest. Maybe in a week I can get back to detecting here in Ontario. Stay safe.
You need a pin pointer
A little hint next time. Park the trucks in a v and put bags under them to block wind from camp. It helps a ton. I bring extra tarps for that occasion
Gary in the future you should write your name and address on your nugget bottles with a sharpie so if you loose em and somebody finds em they can mail em back to ya 🙄 Seriously though that’s a bummer, I know the feeling, I left a plastic vial with my test nugget in it on a rock in the Mojave as I went chasing a tarantula, by the time I got bored with the tarantula I’d forgotten about the test nugget bottle and only remembered I’d left it on a rock a couple hours later when I needed it again .. never did find it .. but I’m hoping another prospector eventually found it and made his day. 🤠👍
Where’s Jeff, you must be missing his jokes
Hi Gary,
Great location but ugly weather (man, it’s summer).
Nice gold you found but could be more (I used to see more from you). Many thanks for sharing this adventure. Too bad you lost your jar.
Btw: Happy birthday belated!
Best regards from Germany!
Bullets are plentiful in the desert 🌵 But if there is a nugget, Gary will find it.
That looked like a blast. Sorry you lost the metal but glad you had fun. Good job Gary 👌👊
Great trip! That’s one vast thirsty looking place! The video doesn’t convey how the cold and wind felt. Nothing like dressing for ice fishing to go to bed. Sorry you lost your gold…did you look on Google earth?
Sure would love to spend a week there.
Hey Garry, what kinda tent was that and what did it cost ya? That’s my burning question.
My father and I did a lot of prospecting in the high desert, mainly for load deposits, but breaking out the detectors is a lot of fun. And it’ll snow any time of year. Fun watching your video. Thanx
💯Cool gold camping trip, weird weather, oh man that stinks you lost that bottle, Just ordered some tools from you’re web page the other day, looking forward on using them here in the Green mountains! Semper Fi!
You in rye patch?
In the outdoors with the boys can never go wrong! Thanks for sharing Gary, excited to see you again at the nugget hunt right around the corner! Hope all is well brother
looks like pershing county that you be in
Awesome video, mad journey right from the begining to the end! Oh yer, did anyone else see the giant gorilla at 0:49 – 0:50? ⛏😎
Cheaper to buy nuggets on ebay.
You’re a great sport Gary. You didn’t even mention what your total might have been including the gold that you lost. Bummer on that though, but I’ll bet it will never happen again!
Its about time with your mates and finding new amazing places. Thanks again for all your knowledge on here Gary. Keep it on the up and up!
New sub ! Liked ✌️🙂🤯
your videos are on my top favorite on YT this year, the first one I ever watched was actually you out on the boat fishing… 👍 have much enjoyed all your content.
Hi guys. A question for the group. We all know that the further the gold travels down a river the smaller the pieces get and the more rounded they get. But nobody ever says how far is far. Is the larger gold found in the first 1000 feet from source or the first ten miles from source? I just need to know approximately as I intend to do some detecting downstream from a side moraine left by a glacier. The moraine is only about a thousand feet wide and runs for several miles with streams and a few rivers cutting through it. Thx for any expert opinions given.
So….your daughter comes by losing gold honestly…
Thanks for taking us along on your trip. Not someplace I’ve ever been. Looks amazing.
Nice job Gary, looked like a lot of fun with you boys.
Did ya check under your tent?
I’ve got to say my friend, that intro was awesome 😎
Great video. Looks like you had a blast. I really liked the little round white balls that were jumping into your scoop right before lunch.
So envious of you Gary and friends… Would love to get away and just camp .
Is it possible to save time by identifying iron targets prior to all the digging and sifting by sweeping the location w/a magnet?
Well I enjoyed your adventure. Sorry to hear about your nugget bottle. Very appreciative of you sharing your fun and excitement with us. Thank you Gary
Are you trying to show us what a waist of time it is to go to Nevada .
Well Gary that half ounce nugget that you lost in your gold bottle would have made you the winner far and away. Well you will pick it up next time. It looks like a great time was had by all.
Great adventure Gary….Much appreciated.
Are you quite sure you’re in Nevada, and not ohio, lol.. that’s usually about all I find, is iron.
Beautiful country. I can’t wait to get down to the lower 48 and try some different types of prospecting.
Looks like it was a cold but fun trip!!! Really does suck that you lost your jar.
Very nice Gary !! Thanks for sharing with us.
