What the FBI did was illegal. They should be arrested for conspiracy and treason. "It’s barbaric to hide knowledge that was meant for all!" – Zippo – Dinotopia.

Wasn’t that supposed to be excavated by a team of archeologist? Why the FBI excavated it? Is that normal procedure in PA???

Dig it up and pay a fine for digging on state property and turn over the “find” which I would admit to being silly while giving them the old “railroad iron track pieces” that I found. Why they even brought it to someone’s attention in the first place is beyond me…and before I hear. “It’s stamped US.” Gold melts nicely.

There’s been a ton of recent revelations and bombshells in the Dents Run court case lately (including just losing a major part of their case) over on the "The Friendly Metal Detecting Forum". Search " The FBI Files: Dents Run Civil War Gold" for their thread over there that lays out the most recent facts of the case.

Thing is, the government wouldn’t dig at all if all their pre-dig scans indicated nothing there. Plus the FBI had acknowledged in writing they estimated 9 tons of gold at the location. Once it was certain that it was there, I’m sure a decision was made to screw the Paradas. It’s clear as day the FBI found the gold and ran off with it.
