Diving for lost treasures in the American River
Diving for lost treasures in the American River
So much fun! This scuba adventure was struggling upstream against hard currents and then a fast moving run down stream, collecting trash and treasures along the way.
This dive is made possible by my Genesis 600 DPV
My dive gear:
Dive Rite, Aqualung, Oceanic, Light and Motion, DUI, Logic Dive Gear, GoPro,

U should grab the trash 🗑 too!…😁
Dude you should do some prospecting,it looked like you passed over likely targets.get a waterproof metal/gold detector
Thanks for taking us with. I am a little jealous.
You fly over hidden metal, why? You don’t pick up trash that I can see but fly over cans and rubble. Not as good video as some others.
You must make a small fortune from sell used $5 Sun Glasses😃
Awesome magnet and rope
One thing I have gleaned from your dives is, A-people should remove their glasses before jumping in the water, or 2- invest in cheap glasses lanyard! lol
Nice Video! Looked like the Orangevale or Fair Oaks area… Bob in Germany
Thanks for everything you do and cleaning up the waterways!!! What did you do with the magnet??? If you still have it I would like it if that’s ok
Very nice scenery at the start of dive. Big haul today.
The E glasses, are Edge safety/ sun glasses. Nice quality built frames and lenses.
Hi you,the video is up with the 2 orphan puppies,Its short and sweet.Didnt get a chance to film them till today. One isn’t doing so good but nobody’s giving up on him.Hope your good.((hugs))
Tori Burch sunglasses are expensive. Check those out.
Is that all you find is sunglasses?
Thanks for help keeping me sane during lock down. I always enjoy your videos.
I have always wanted to learn how to dive. I metal detect on land and I like it but would like to do it under water. Does your wife dive with you sometime? Like your videos, I am new watching and enjoy watching. Rose from Maine
Good vid Sir.
the "E" logo is for "Edge"
Nice dive, Mark! Was that magnet anywhere near a bridge? Sure looked shiny and new 👍 Thanks for taking us along.
Nice ‘pink’ Ray bans lol the current was incredible!! Keep up the great dive treasure hunting!!
I would imagine boaters could get a bit spooked seeing your scuba head suddenly pop up out of nowhere!!!—I’ve been watching those raggedy, duck-taped gloves slowly get worse! At what point does the duck-tape patch not work anymore, and you get a new pair?!
glad your back i had to watch aquachigger for my under water adventures enjoy your videos
That looks fun, but I was waiting for a great white to appear from no where haha.
Been too busy if I miss a Mokpot dive, my bad. I like when you dive in the American River, it seems so nice. A good dive Mark, I think I’d keep the magnet and the rope, I love to magnet fish, great way to find some valuable items in a muddy river. Ship it to me. LOL!
Nice!
Pro tip: (gleaned from watching Aquachigger) Cut the top off a plastic bottle and three the magnet rope through it so the bottle flares over the magnet. This will prevent the magnet getting hung up on rocks or branches (or at least lessen the possibility significantly), if you were to decide to try magnet fishing.
Now, if only I could retain knowledge I could actually use… #songlyricsfordays 🤷🏻♂️🤣
… THE MAGNET may well be 400 pounds (or more) pull — a STRONG magnet. DO NOT put it near any of your electronic gear, it will wipe it out. Also, if it gets stuck on say the side of a truck, etc. it can well scratch the metal while trying to remove it. Just a note — you may already know all of this.
Aye, ever find any bodies in cement shoes?
I love watching as so many are in areas I frequented as a kid. Grew up in Sacramento. Now in Washington state
Hi, I Live in Sacramento and also do dives for treasure and clean up. I noticed you left a lot of trash. I understand its not your responsibility to clean up others trash, and doesnt always make decent video content, but as a fellow diver I think its important that we spread the message of awareness for earths waters and the marine life that inhabit it. If you ever need any help on a dive collecting trash I would be more than willing to help. Easier to have a helping hand and we can both work together to give back to our environment, since we live in a world where a lot of people do not seem to care and use our waters as their trash bins. I am mermaidforacause on instagram and here on youtube. Shoot me a message anytime!
???????????🤔 what are we watching? A 10 year old snorkeling?
i am glad to see you cleaning up the waterways, great video.
You can revive cell phones but putting them in a bin and filling the bin with rice. Rice pull out the water and absorbs it
curious how man y of glasses you have found. do you keep a running tally? has to be hundreds
Tory Burch sunglasses range from $155 – over $200 new. Macy’s is where I saw them.
Cool video. Soft piano music would add a bit of interest. But if not…no big. Still enjoyed watching.🙌
Wow a magnet for fishing
Sunglass whisperer
Third time I’ve seen this video. Not much for me to do but watch TV these days. Can’t drive any more. I keep trying to guess where on the river you are. I almost drowned a little below where the Sunrise Bridge is when I was 7. It was about 1948. Stepped into a hole & dad pulled me out. No bridge in those days! I love that river though & enjoy watching. Keep up the good work.
I enjoy the detector work as well. I realize you generally do it in lakes. On my tv now is Ice House lake. Used to camp there! No fun being old!
In liberal California they’re called “do-gooders”. They just can’t let others enjoy doing their own thing in their own way without criticizing others (under the guise of educating, suggesting, improving)…when they’re not even asked. They’re everywhere…but abound in CA. And are the rude, insensitive, unhappy, anal-retentive, do-gooder, that knows more than anyone else…And will tell you without ever being asked! Best just to say “thank you” and continue what you’re doing!
Bro please post if you see any massive fish please
Why aren’t you picking up everything all the other divers on you tube pickup the trash also ,then next time you go down you won’t be distracted by all the things you see . It would be a good thing and maybe you could get rid of some of the dirt down there , with the trash the dirt has something to grab on to ,without it the dirt would keep moving along and go elsewhere . ?
Sweet find with the fishing magnet! I use mine sometimes detecting to pick up as much iron I can in an area to clear signals for the detector! Happy hunting!
Transformers… Yellow and black… Bumblebee!!! 🙂
As always looks like a great fun dive and interesting finds enjoyed the trip
Класс!
First of all I want to say Thank You for taking your time to make all the wonderful video’s! Through your video’s I am able to experience the awsome pleasure of scuba diving! Something I always wanted to do but never could afford it. I noticed that you never pass up a pair of glasses most especially sunglasses unless you over looked them. In the video (Diving for treasure in the American river) you find two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses. One of the pair are black wayfarers the other pair are white and black with red letters. I noticed that you find a lot of Ray Ban sunglasses! If by any chance you would be willing to sell me a pair I would really appreciate it!!! My email address is dpolk1956@yahoo.com Keep the video’s coming because I look forward to viewing them!!!👍 Thanks, David L Polk.
Nice video gotta love the free stuff what would you charge to retrieve my lure from sunrise it’s on a snag with a few outhers my favorite salmon lure
The glasses are called edge they are worth over 500 $
Love your videos. Sharing with a couple kids who love them too.
