Episode 215 – METAL DETECTING – What Treasure Lays Buried on this Old Kentucky Ridge?
This week I hit an old house site I located on the topographical maps along an Old Kentucky Ridge. The spot produced some interesting turn-of-the century relics. It’s amazing some of the things that people lost back in the day!… I mean, how does someone lose a complete pocket watch? I also found a very unusual flat button, and do an interesting History Clip on aluminum.

Those old house sites always lead you to good silver coins every so often and I like the church key you found to open up beer cans and take off bottle caps enjoyed the video

Blacksmith pritchel hole tool @ 6:53?
the little curved metal tube looks like a part of an old atomizer
fascinating history and beautiful country thank you from California. our old family Farmhouse built in 1820 is at Rural Route 1 Deputy Indiana. we bought it from Townsend Bogi. in the 1970s we found many silver coins. Morgan’s Raiders were rumored to have in Camp there post Civil War. we no longer own it. we cooked our food on the Home Comfort wood stove. Drew water from the well. and canned food from our huge vegetable garden and Orchards. many fond memories of the Hoosier life
Nice hunt Seven and that spike will be nice all cleaned up and treated. I learn a lot from your History clips, thanks for sharing.

Great hunt, the pocket watch is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
hello loy could that object be one of the pieces that held the globe on a lantern just guessing great video
I absolutely love your history lessons.
Think that last year ten would be a splitting wedge for kindling? My dad said he remembered my great grandmother cooking on a wood cook stove. He said she went through a lot of small wood. He said he also had to break up block coal small to cook with?
I live in Ky and have been searching for maps. Could you tell me where to find that 1929 topographical map? Awesome video. Great info as well.
Nice hunt Loy! Did you ever figure out the hook with a ball thing?

I live in Louisville myself. Would love to dig with you sometime. I’m currently waiting on my new detector to be released hopefully next month. I love finding coins etc but I’ve never found relics would. I would love the chance to save some history. Getting permissions here in Louisville are pretty hard, people think our hobby just digs and leaves holes.
Hi Buddy when I saw the can/bottle opener … I thought you were gonna say "Church key" not sure why it got that name ..nice full pocket watch find… Really like that Gilt Edge button is awesome different for sure .. Definitely enjoyed the Aluminum clip… thanks Loy see ya

I have already dug up two toy cap gun parts with one looking like a revolver and the other that’s a handle with a star in a roped circle
Germantown mill in Germantown, Ky bagged flour called Gilt Edge.. I have a few old sacks. Look like same style lettering. Early 1900s
