Florida family of explorers discovers treasure from 1715 shipwreck
A family found $1 million dollars in gold and other artifacts off the Florida coast from a fleet of ships that sank 300 years ago. Vladimir Duthiers spoke to the Schmitt family to find out what it takes to excavate underwater.
Pretty sure Reagan law rapes any and all treasures from finders !
50% for the finder, 50% for Spain 🇪🇸 it’s the law
I ain’t opening my mouth if I find a treasure like that. If I have to I’m melting the coins even if I just sell it for the value of the gold.
Great video
I’m happy for them.
I live in Southwest Florida myself.
Its pretty much every Floridians dream
Or just say you didn’t find anything and sell it privately and keep 100% of the sale.
I found a lot of things and it’s my secret I found it first it’s mine now
This is all fake ………
I want these eight escudos Peruvian gold coins from the reign of Charles II of Habsburg Spain and of Phillipp the V of Bourbon Spain of the Atocha shipwreck of between the years 1689 and 1715 hopefully I’ll manage to get them without paying a single penny by stumbling upon them!
This would be so cool to find. But the fact that the United States government would intervene and try to steal as much of it as they can would be a deal-breaker for me. and then on top of that they’re going to allow another country to come in and steal their unfair share. Let’s not forget what spoils you reap the government’s going to tax you on. I would rather salvage the whole thing and not tell a soul. F****** government!
Awesome find !!!
i came here to see the gold, but WTF is that headline about trump . . lol
The IRS will be along very soon to take THEIR cut.

I have an assortment of items from the same wreck: an 8 reale, half reale, musket ball, a copper spike, and a few cannonball shards, but I hope to one day get a hold of an escudo from the wreck
Nothing like the greedy rich getting richer. Sickening
They should have not spoken a word, melted each gold coin to hide the markings, and sold 1 coin at a time.
Could of been one of the ships my forefather sank.

DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW WHY THE WORD; GANGPLANK would be etched into a Peru Philip V 2 escudos coin? With the numbers 88 underneath, This appears to be machine engraved possibly, right across the cross on the coin. Thank you in advance!

Sounds like Bernie Sanders is sitting onshore with his hand out, demanding his 20% for not doing a dam thing. Sounds like a socialist policy.
