Prescott Courier editor Jim Garner handed mom an envelope . Go find Bill Auble. The white guy from the res who invented the Navajo Code. He knew every boy from the family trading post. Horse tours to Rainbow Bridge. So he drew up profiles of all the boys after hearing Japs yakking on his planes radio. He asked To be left alone and splash Japs . He lived and so did all the Codetalkers . So mom found her man . And just like Crocodile Dundee … she married him

I rolled into Hovenwehp late . All alone i slept on the picnic table and thought i heard giggling. Sunrise tongirls wiggling my toes and saying hurry or youll be late for breakfast . So i strapped my pistol and put on my boots and followed over the hill was a Tuba City High School bus with the girls glee club. The teacher handed me a plate and i introduced myself .. Im Bill Aubles step son … so they made me an honorary Navajo for the weekend and kept me around tonshoot snakes and kkepnem safe … Alone with a couple dozen teenage girls … it was quite an honor … boy did we have fun …
