Geodes are hollow, the whole inside is covered with amethyst and calcite crystals. This is the first time opening it up and most of the crystals are covered with an iron coating. I soak them in muriatic acid and cleaned them. there is a link for that video in the description of this video. You can see the crystals clearly.

I think I found something very similar to this in tillimook forest high up on the ridges. I guess Mosoulla floods poured over top. But I drove past it. I marked it wonder if I should further inspect.

I’ve got tons of geodes from all around the world but I’ve never cracked open a single one. I like to preserve the mystery. Also collect enhydro crystals and other enhydro specimens.

Anticlimactic 😐 the geode may be big but the crystals are very flat and not impressive.. Girl is overreacting with "why did it break" because if you hit a geode to open it enough chances are it will break..I get that this is a rarer find than usual for gem collectors but I’ve seen better and bigger crystals in geodes than this; not impressed.
