My cabin is right down the road from there in the other side of the valley, about 15 minutes away from the mine. I never experience anything weird there but my friends say it’s crazy haunted.

Yeah I’m pretty sure if could actually be haunted, no body would go within a mile from a southern plantation.

Thank you for filming, if there a place that haunted by Ghosts or Jinns or whatever they called , you can enter these places but try to not make noise especially screaming loudly cuz they could retaliate by possessing you by their spirits and harm you , if you wanna stay for one or two day probably they won’t harm you but if decided to stay permanently they will get on your case , annoying you day and night , if you sleep in a haunted place and you don’t bring dogs or wolves those animal which scare them a lot, if you sleep alone at that place you more likely will have one of them as a permanent companion, if you male you will get a femal Jinn , she will provide you a milk if you agree to drink it she will be with you for ever either they makes you a psychic or show you the hidden world like water aquifers etcs any way they will grant you a supernatural power , I’m from Arabia where the vast majority of Jinns are located in especially in the western ward , and I have experienced many cases of jinns some are good jinns some are bad

I grew up in this area. At the bottom of the mountain by turners corner. I remember when I was young (20 years ago or more) my family and I would visit here and it was a bustling tourist trap. That white building that collapsed used to be a gift shop. Crazy how it’s changed! Snowboarding is great there too by the way lol

It’s not Ghosts you need to be scared of, BUT, the Sodium Cyanide left from mining operations. Exposure to sodium cyanide can be rapidly fatal. It has whole-body (systemic) effects, particularly affecting those organ systems most sensitive to low oxygen levels: the central nervous system (brain), the cardiovascular system (heart and blood vessels), and the pulmonary system (lungs). EPA wasn’t established back then so all this crap was just dumped in the open anywhere convenient. Side effects like central nervous system dysfunction, such as anoxic encephalopathy popup later.

" STAY OUT OF THE WOODS "

  29. Carol Pingel on November 20, 2022 at 11:09 am

I visited here in August 2020. It was pretty busy that day and there was a family with a few young kids. I, wanting to be in a quieter area, began walking across a wooden bridge towards the more elevated part of the property. The kids were back with the buildings. As I was walking across the bridge I heard one of the little kids run up behind me, like right up behind me. I was a little annoyed but thought kids will be kids, and I just kept walking. It continued, a kid running around right behind me, the distinctive pitter patter of little feet, right on my heels, so I turned around in a bit of a huff and no one was there. I didn’t hear it the rest of my day there.

I’m here for an interesting reason actually, I live in Alaska and a week or so back I had a strange experience in hatchers pass. Not at independence mine though, but somewhere even more isolated, snowbird mine and glacier pass.
I got an intense feeling of being watched for a little on that hike. I was completely alone up there but every now and then I’d hear disembodied voices. Or almost like. Voices in the distance where I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I admit there are a couple things I could chalk it up to, for instance the sound of water moving through rocks. But I got a strange feeling and I was surrounded by these old, isolated mines so idk. The atmosphere was right.

If the bunkhouse had a movie theater, then this ISN’T from the 19th Century! So, how old is it. A little explanation in the beginning would be helpful.

I live in Alaska, Hatchers is Pass is a stomping ground of mine. However, I have never been to Independence Mine. It’s usually close when i get up there. It’s a goal of mine. If you can get on a 4 wheeler there are loads of hidden old miners cabins scattered through out the pass. so I have heard anyway.

Alaska really looks like Kamchatka. We call these flowers "Ivan Chay". You can make something like herbal tea with them. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.

Metallic silver paint would have been to keep the buildings warmer in winter. Although white would have been better for that. Also metallic paint preserves wood better.
