Great Video! I don’t really spearfish (yet) so I was wondering what the spoon was for.

Nick, why do you have spoon with you?

Great question we use spoons to draw in predatory fish like GT’s and Pelagic Fish. Pretty much throw the spoon at the top of the water where you want it to drop. And the spoon will flutter down to the bottom calling in the big boys. Works great. Even in blue water "water normally 250ft up to 6000 here in hawaii they can be used to draw up fish from depths further than anyone can dive.

I use the standard housing on my hero 3. Its already a flat lens. I own the go pro dive housing but haven’t used it on my go pro 3 yet. Might try it next time, it looks like it might take in more light which would be nice in caves.
