This is interesting.
Easy enough. Its a Mason text which themselves are in code.. So only another Mason would be able to locate the treasure. The third text describing the owners, would be the bible.. Why? because that is where fairness and honesty is to be found.

I bet the code is in a real common, but important text to it’s creator, like from a chapter in the bible, or some other important document

@MultiReviewer The codes are well known and folk have had acces to them for the 150+ years, including me. I believe even the computer center at University of Virginia took a stab at it a few years back.
I found this treasure about a two years ago and I blew it all on women and drugs…..

I’ll tell you what happened….The unnamed author cracked that code 150 years ago and dug that up in the night. So your telling me he used every book he could get his hands on and he only broke the code on how much gold was buried… but not the code on where it was buried and who it belonged too? HA HA! Hell, i wouldn’t tell either. Another reason why no one knew his name.
no at the end of the last one they mention something about area 51. something stupid like that.
but that would be cool if they did and it would be even cooler if they accidentally cracked the code while filming it

candr: It’s a close squeaker. I just googled the TJ Bible and I guess you are correct. I do believe the Porter Code was used. Have you ever seen the original format of the code? It is not symmetrical. It could designate a territory on a map or a section of an established state. I’m still fascinated in how all those HQ’s appeared. That was tantalizing. I’m led to believe that Beale may have used Shakespeare as a base. Either Macbeth or Hamlet. I had to walk away from my endeavors. Mind boggling!
Start combing with a metal detector.

@pmoyer50 but how would he get a hold of the Bible to make the code. Yes I tried the code in the 60’s through the 70’s. Even used the letter of T.J. written before 1819, God, do you know how much he wrote back then!!!! Actually I started thinking about the Lodge that he belonged to and the writings he would be exposed to at the time.
I tried cracking the code in the early 80’s using the Porter Code: ie A=1, Z=26, A=27 and so forth on til the highest number. I found a number of references to Hamlet, Macbeth and the Sermon on the Mount. Really intriguing was at least 3 places in the oddly shaped code where the intersecting horizontal and vertical HQ. appears. That means headquarters and it was too much of a coincidence for it to happen numerous times. I believe the original Thomas Jefferson Bible is the key. Yes, it exists.

Knowing Hollywood they will probably use this story for their next National treasure movie, if there is a next one.

um, if ppl are serious, why don’t we use a computer to crack the code? If the 1st and 3rd cyphers are based around the same principle as the 2st, that is to say, off a book, then all books of that period(pre 1820s) is now in the public domain so you can get them on the net. then you just get the computer to start cranking. In a reasonable amount of time (1 year?) the code should be broke – no?
