Let’s talk real quick about how the USA staged an illegal coo to overthrow a monarchy, murdered Hawaiians that spoke out in protest. And created laws to exterminate the Hawaiian people. Acknowledging it in the 90s with an apology letter yet, still occupying the land and selling off portions of the land that it does not own. Islands are completely ridden with military, which they continue to year after year decimate the eco system and drain the islands of it’s natural resources. The economics do not benefit Hawaiians, as tax money benefits plantation owners and wealthy businesses that illegally occupy. Y’all house your other victims on our islands as well, who y’all experimented on over generations to test how your nuclear weapons effected them. Now ask yourself, your country is still committing the crimes but we should be quiet and kiss your ass and poor you drinks. Welcome to Hawaii, Aloha!!!

Couple things, first she’s very beautiful! Her face kinda has the innocent but knowing look to it! Secondly she’s very measured in the things that she says, she didn’t want to outright say that it’s a dope fiends paradise until Jo-jo kept pressing. I thought they were going to talk about Honolulu!

  3. mishal Adara on December 24, 2022 at 1:28 am

Used to be how many fat racist Hawaiians does it take to ruin your day?

  4. Buddhist Priest on December 24, 2022 at 1:29 am

Warrior mentality vs slave owner mentality. The Hawaiians don’t bring drugs in. The military does.

  5. DMac740 on December 24, 2022 at 1:30 am

Here’s the truth it’s like any other place it’s what you make it and if you have lot’s of money it’s easier.

How is society? What are the insects worried about? Does the nitrogen need to be added?

  7. Hale Mawae on December 24, 2022 at 1:32 am

She basically just called Hawaiians lazy drug addicts from a “warrior culture” in a really apolitical way because it’s expensive to live there and aren’t productive so they in turn resort to drugs if they aren’t part of a “tribe” who motivates them to go do stuff. Wow! professional Surf culture is pretty drugged out too but then no one wants to talk about drug abuse in the Haole appropriation version of pro surf culture…

I lived there 7 years she’s half right and half generalizing childishly about ALL of them this ALL of them that .. she wasted the gift of the Island experience as I hear she did NOT do what locals do working the land hiking eating cheaply and living for LESS money simply .. she’s wrong about SOOOO much

I lived on Guam as a civilian for three years and never felt isolated on an island the size of Molakai. Guamanians(Chamorros) are way friendly in comparison while their island is 33% military bases.

The homeless on Kauai are out of control now. Passing out and doing drugs in the McDonalds parking lots, tons of homeless encampments all over with big increases in crime in what used to be quiet neighborhoods.

  25. indi saga on December 24, 2022 at 1:54 am

I lived on Maui, worked remotely and tried to do freelance photography. Being there was super cool, until I found out my roommates were selling drugs.. Took a dark turn.
I moved out and tried to live out of my car, work using Wi-Fi at Starbucks.
The various Starbucks locations decided to close earlier, which forced me to stop working in the middle of my shift and rent was so expensive.. I couldn’t find a roommate which was difficult.
    I wasn’t sleeping more than 4-5 hours a night..
Homeless people tried breaking into my car while I was sleeping..
    Ended up flying back home.
It probably was the craziest 3 months of my life.

haole get back. Hawaiian reparations now

  31. Lindsey Breegan on December 24, 2022 at 2:02 am

Depends on where you are…but the racism against white people is REAL and it can be really bad. I am from Waianae on Oahu and my childhood was legit so crappy. I was bullied incessantly. Even as someone who was born, raised and lived most of my life here, I am STILL called a Haole on a regular basis and ostracized over my skin color.

  32. Alyson onOahu on December 24, 2022 at 2:06 am

    Only insecure people are racists

  33. Lawrence Wong on December 24, 2022 at 2:08 am

I’ve been born and raised on the island of Kauai and my Hawaiian royal ancestors have roots of that island for hundreds if not thousands of years. How can this white transplant all of a sudden became an "expert" in these matters? Typical of the white washed "know it all" approach and the primary reason why the locals hate this one particular race, responsible for the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom and the reasons for the majority being homeless and dying off as a race.

Joe Rogan is getting the "sweet oil" and should instead interview a real Hawaiian Kanaka who has actual roots going back many generations not these so called "PhD" wonders.

  34. MrsMamaPristine on December 24, 2022 at 2:10 am

As someone who was born and raised here in Hawai’i she literally has no idea what she is talking about "20+ years doing this" pfttt you have learned nothing go home haole. They should fact check her "facts" because literally she’s talking BS aside from her surfing and wind surfing she’s just talking out her ass

  35. L Leasure on December 24, 2022 at 2:10 am

  39. Makamae Torres on December 24, 2022 at 2:15 am

    Stop coming to Hawaiʻi.

  40. Keala Kelly on December 24, 2022 at 2:17 am

Wow. She really doesn’t have a clue about the Hawaiian people. So, maybe colonizers like her shouldn’t talk about "warrior culture" or anything remotely connected to Hawaiian people or history. What an idiot! And what she says about Molokai is asinine. It’s as if she has never lived here. She’s a haole to the max staying behind the walls of her colonial mind– she sounds like she’s afraid of Hawaiians and, therefore, has lived in a gated community in a colonial setting. She can’t even say Niihau (lol!) but keeps saying it wrong– and it’s right next to the island she lived on fo 20 years? No way any haole who lived anywhere in Hawaii, especially on a little island like Kauai, is that stupid. One would have to literally not know any Hawaiians to talk the way this woman does.

  41. Brandon Dixon on December 24, 2022 at 2:17 am

  45. Jennifer T on December 24, 2022 at 2:23 am

I am here in Kaua’i as I wrote this and Gabrielle put it so well about the people and life here. The locals seem to come off rude and they are but when she explains their life, it lightens it up a bit. A sad situation for a lot of people. We just want to visit and respect it too though, as a tourist.

  46. Kainani Ho on December 24, 2022 at 2:24 am

I thought it was bad enough hearing the incorrect pronunciation of all the islands but she really got me with the “NiHiOw” 😂😂😂

  47. Chick Up Boom on December 24, 2022 at 2:25 am

I never been to Hawaii but I used to know quite a few people who moved to the mainland from there. what thing I did notice most hawaii locals have in common…. they’re all extremely uneducated and on the slow side intellectually. Their scope of the world is very small and many of them can’t have a conversation about anything other than celebrity gossip or some other superficial subject. We’re talking grown adults, not just kids or teenagers.

Hawaiians, in terms of basic education level, are like way down there with some of the poorest areas of the deep south. It’s alarming how common it is.

  48. x on December 24, 2022 at 2:26 am

Warrior culture my a@@. Say it like it is. Native Hawaiians have a lot of hate. Im brown and Aztec blood and not european at all. I got discriminated like crazzy. Some places were worse than South Central LA becuz the locals wont back you up. They will fk you up if you dont watch your back. Stay on resort. They like your money, but dont like you PERIOD!
