Just east of there in the Superstition Foothills of California we found what was described at huge silver vane. It was a true with water present (not always there) and native honey bees. But thanks to the US Navy making the entire area a bombing range we will NEVER be allowed back into those foothills even if they closed it today. Thanks for the story, it follows very closely the story published in the Arizona Highways magazine back in the 1950’s.

A great uncle of mine lived on an Indian reservation, during his childhood, near yuma, in the late teens, early 1920’s. He came upon the mine while exploring the area and by the time he had made it back home, someone from the res had already warned his father to stay away from that area. Sometime later, curiosity got the best of him and he returned to where the mine was…he said that the entrance was so well covered up, that you could walk right by it and not notice
