Hey Everyone, ✤ Welcome to “Southwest Desert”✤
Step back in time with one of the most remarkable lost gold mines ever discovered in California history – Goler’s gold mine. This incredible lost gold story begins in 1867 when a mysterious German prospector discovered rich gold deposits in the heart of the Mojave Desert. While many lost California gold mines fade into myth, the lost Goler mine stands apart as one of the few southwest desert legends proven true through an extraordinary discovery: a rifle that stood in the desert sand for 50 years.

From the initial discovery that sparked multiple failed expeditions to the eventual gold rush that transformed the region, this southwest gold story captures the essence of frontier prospecting. Unlike many lost treasure stories that remain mysteries, this lost southwest gold discovery led to the establishment of the prosperous Goler Mining District, where California gold mining yielded over a million dollars in precious metal.

The saga of the Goler mine represents more than just another entry in the countless lost gold stories of the American West. This verified southwest treasure tale features all the elements that make southwest desert stories so captivating: a mysterious prospector, hidden riches, failed expeditions, and an eventual discovery that changed lives. The remarkable success of Mojave Desert gold prospecting in the area produced nuggets weighing up to 23 ounces, with a single Wells-Fargo office handling $350,000 in gold shipments.

Join us as we unravel this California gold story, tracing how this lost gold legend transformed from one of many lost mines into a documented California gold rush success story. Discover how the Munsey family’s shocking find of Goler’s rifle in 1917 confirmed one of the most fascinating southwest desert lost gold legends ever recorded, proving that sometimes the most incredible lost gold stories are actually true.

Just above Goler Canyon is the Barker Ranch. That’s where the Manson family hid out after they murdered Sharon Tate and 4 others one night and Leno and Rosemary LaBianca the next night.
