Lost Treasure – Treasure Hunt in America
Lost Treasure – Treasure Hunt in America | Kansas – In this video, we look at a few buried treasures in Kansas. $195,000 worth of gold stolen in Lawrence, over 100 valuables buried along the Sante Fe Trail, $400,000 worth of gold buried on an island in the Arkansas River, and $24,000 worth of silver thrown in the Solomon River. Get out your metal detectors, there’s gold to find.
That Wakarus River treasure story in Lawrence Kansas has never been found. Honestly I think it’s in a different area than the men claim it to be but who knows. It’s an interesting story. Every time I drove over the river I thought about that treasure for years. Kansas is full of treasure stories and Dodge City and other stops along the Santa Fe Trail are just hotbeds for people who buried their treasure soo they wouldn’t lose it to the thieves.
While metal detecting in Morro Bay Ca. in 1990 I discovered a cookie tin with coins dating back from 1973 to 1965. I had them all check to see if any of them were worth more than face value but no luck. But still it was a find and a find is better than no find at all.
