Monstrous NYC Mobster & His $200m Fortune | Lost Treasure of Dutch Schultz

Monstrous NYC Mobster & His $200m Fortune | Lost Treasure of Dutch Schultz

In today’s episode, we will be uncovering the mystery of the Lost Treasure of Dutch Schultz. Dutch Schultz had a reputation for a white-hot temper and brutality, but in the end it was his loose lips and delirious deathbed ramblings that cemented his legend as a prolific mobster. Over a career of bootlegging, racketeering, extortion, robbery, tax evasion, gang warfare and more, Schultz was identified as Public Enemy No. 1 by President Hoover in 1933 after the fall of Chicago’s Al Capone. During his career, Schultz amassed a fortune worth over 200 million dollars, which has never been found. This mystery still drives modern-day treasure seekers to the Catskills in Phoenicia with shovels and a mission.

The paper money is probably rotted away by now. I can’t see the box still being airtight after all these years.

Hoover may have believed himself to be President, but he was merely the head of the FBI. Another great story🎉

Some of the images you chose to use, like the craps table and the man with a gun being held to his head are distracting. They seem out of place and take away from the historic and mysterious atmosphere you otherwise create very well. Only an observation. Glad of the content. Nicely done.

There’s no way that an iron box could have been buried deep enough to be beyond the range of average quality metal detectors that have been available for many decades… It is also impossible for a heavy safe, full of money and bonds, to be carried by 2 men to an inaccessible place where treasure hunters with metal detectors couldn’t also access and — thoroughly — scour with those detectors…
So, either the treasure is a myth, or the reported burial areas are a myth.
