That coin is a great find! My first detector was a kids detector. I bought it for my daughter. It found some really cool items. It got me hooked and I eventually got a Garrett. I still have the kids one. It’s great to have around when taking non experienced people metal detecting!

I’ve been swinging my Simplex for 8 months, now, as I’m new to the hobby, and I love it. Being old and slow, I’m barely scratching the surface, so to speak, in my area of the Ohio River around Louisville and Southern Indiana. Are there any metal detecting groups in our neck of the woods? Would love to learn from some more-seasoned detectorists first-hand, instead of only watching YouTube videos and trying out what I see, with no one to ask questions. Nice hunt and decent test on the Ricomax, but the Simplex is the ticket. Congratulations on the Trime. Stay safe and keep on digging.

That coin is in amazing shape for bein in the river. Awesome find. I’ve seen those small lead things used as patches on old boats. It’s pronounced El -my -ra , not far from where i live. Killer finds
