    the roman sword does not prove that the romans came to the Americas , it could have been stolen , a family heirloom , in a stolen collection . Pirates were not picky with what treasure they stole . its not proof of anything other than stolen treasure .

    I don’t think finding an ancient Roman sword means that the Romans had landed there. It’s probably an ancient artifact brought over by whoever buried the treasure in the first place and came from someone else’s private collection.
